This was not a theological question.
Jesus didn't qualify this passage in Mark by saying "but only in matters of religion" or "except when it comes to politics" or "unless you really hate the guy" or "unless he was a NeverTrumper" or "but if you don't feel like it, you don't have to listen to Me."
I, too, remember how Beck became the anti-Trup. It was borderline pathetic AND when Trump needed help. So Beck and Levin fd up and they made no bones about it...just like Cruz. They were then de facto zotted from the Deplorable camp.
Mark has basically asked for forgiveness and Beck is more so asking for it.
Now, am I supposed to forgive every unrepentant scroundrel and let them off the hook? No....Willard and Bill Kristol remain losers and haven't apologized. They remain in the dog house. And Jesus would also want contrition, so we're all good there.
If Beck or Levin relapse, that's a different story. But if they are saying they got Trump wrong are sorry for that, and if Jesus could forgive a REPENTANT Peter, then yeah...I don't have to have them over for dinner or buy their books but it'd be pretty hypocritical to NOT accept their apology.
