This is a wild video
Apparently a group of U.S. Coast Guard crew members from the USCGC Kimball were having a little swim time while deployed in Oceania when a shark crashed the party. Luckily for them, however, someone was standing shark watch and fired shots just as the shark surfaced and swam towards the swimmers.
Luckily for the shark too, they were just warning shots that caused the 68 fish to retreat before returning some time later with more of his buddies. But by that time, everyone was out of the water safely,
Disclaimer: No sharks were injured in the filming of this video.
Gotta love that disclaimer. Glad to see the horsie float survived.
Black Sharks Matter.
Is it ok for a civilian to do this?
Also, bullet penetration into water is rather limited. Myth busters had it at about 3 feet for a rifle bullet.

Anyone we know?
“Using a 50 cal?”
Nope.
Nope, she’s in Charlotte, no sharks.
I was on one swim call when a shark appeared. No shots fired.
Don’t show it to Lebron. He might feel traumatized. Particularly if they shot the unarmed shark in the back.
Sharks seem drawn to unicorn floaties.
An article said this happened in Oceania.
That is awesome! Totally CRAZY!!
You have to wonder - how many unicorn floatie occupants were towed out to sea and NOT rescued by fishermen.
No kidding! My wife just told me that a little girl was rescued on her floatie off of Galveston Island by a fishing boat just recently. Scary stuff there.
Unless I missed it, I didn’t see the caliber mentioned. Not a biggie, but the splashes seemed to be pretty big.
Who has always been at war with Eastasia...
LOL! The on deck video looks like a party boat and I had to laugh at the dudes still swimming around with mask and fins looking for the shark as the others were bailing out.......
Funny video!
