Despite the media narrative the evidence is extremely clear that this kid was there to help. It’s also clear that he was acting in self-defense.
The only likely conviction once this goes to trial.
Any charges brought against this young man it totally ludicrous. It is obvious a political move and throwing a bone to the rioters saying please don’t go off on us we gonna put the murderer in jail. Is there a fund me for him for lawyer fees?
there was another incident not long ago where a dude was attacked by a crowd, and beaten with a skateboard, and one punk had a knife- the dude tried to back away and deescalate, but the punks wouldn’t let him- finally he shot hte knife guy- got charged with murder, then case got dropped because it was clear he acted in self defense-
Let’s hope that happens here too- the evidence is overwhelming that he had to defend his life- one punk threw a molotv cocktail at him, and they were running after him screaming they were gonna kill him I believe (Someone claimed that- i haven’t heard the audio)-

Mas Ayoob has written on the subject of a “competing harms” defense which he suggested to Bernie Goetz’s lawyer who disregarded the advice. It will be useful in this case.
Maybe the carrying charge might stick, but the action parts of the evening are entirely self defense.
For a 17 year old, he showed a lot of poise under some intense pressure. Someday, we will hear his story, and my guess is that it will be impressive.
