But he is considered a minor in both States, correct?
I thought parental permission was required for any minor to handle any weapon even for hunting purposes.
I would imagine IL would be much stricter, making it illegal for any minor to posses a firearm.
Another freeper said that in Wisconsin a minor can possess a firearm with an adult, or by themselves if they have the training course.
I have not looked at the actual laws. In nearby Minnesota that was the case many (many!) years ago. I think they change the laws in Minnesota though. It is 16 years old to buy a long gun. I think I was about 14 when I bought my first shotgun.
