I am of the opinion that lasers will eventually make missiles obsolete.
Using tech stolen from.......
Gosh, I wonder what would happen if a hypersonic missile ran into a cloud of bomblets.
does china want to know what is on board an Ohio class sub,
an easy way to find out is to sink a carrier.
Given the reality of modern technology, virtually anything that floats can be detected and destroyed. The sailors on those ships will never come close to the people who killed them with stealthy supersonic missiles, clusters of drones as small as seagulls or high altitude jets or space weapons. Today’e battleship admirals unfortunately will never realize in time that surface warships are obsolete. Unfortunately many brave young people will first have to die terrible, needless deaths.
Both missile systems are GPS guided, and therefore very vulnerable to spoofing.
China assumes - quite incorrectly - that their orbital systems will survive initial contact with our military in combat.
Sucks to be them.
Bill Clinton allowed the sale of the technology to make carrier killer missiles to China in exchange for a big envelope from Loral Technologies. Loral had sold China missiles with a bad guidance system, and when they tried one it went off course crashed into a village and killed hundreds of people. To make nice with China Loral wanted to sell them the missile killer technology. ALL of Clinton’s top advisers told Bubba not to do it, but that envelope was just too big to turn down. Clinton committed treason for money and no one called him on it. He should be in prison for life but as a Democrat that won’t happen.
When China hits a moving target at sea from 500+ miles away, I will believe they have a “carrier killer”.
Until then it’s but cartoon fiction.
As far as I know they have only hit a painted target in the Gobi Desert.
Time to test fire a Dam-Buster missile
How many US sub are hanging out in the South China Sea....bet the Chicoms wish they knew. I’d be willing to bet they scare the Chicom just as much as a carrier strike group on the horizon
Not the U2S from the other day, but a U.S. Air Force RC-135S Cobra Ball spy plane
Just seeing this thread. Heard a grain market trader wondering about China making so many recent purchases.
He speculated it ay be because China is planning something that will result in us not shipping them any grain after they start something.
