Hear ya. Am looking for a good switchblade myself. In my dotage I’m getting too lazy to open a kinfe with two hands.

Many states alllow a switch blade or perhaps assisted opening folders now. Many, but not all, prohibit stilettos and/or blades that come straight out of a hilt or handle. It is as complex as other weapon laws.
I like assisted flippers as long as the locks keep working. Don’t want a super sharp flipper coming open in my front pocket. Look up Ken Onion’s stuff. Inexpensive but servicable if you check the locks.
