South Dakota governor praises First Lady's speech, says 'no mother in this country' wants to raise children in Democratic-led cities

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) on Wednesday lauded first lady Melania Trump's keynote speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC), adding "no mother in this country" wants to raise children in Democratic-led cities.

Noem told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" host Sandra Smith that the president's wife delivered a "powerful" speech showcasing "her mother's heart" Tuesday night, and exemplified how the president respects women.

Following the first lady's speech, Trump walked up to her and kissed her on the cheek before the two walked inside the White House hand-in-hand.

"I think what's incredibly important is that mothers get up every single day and look at the life they want for their children and their grandchildren in the future and it is not found in these Democrat-led cities," said Noem, a mother of three.

The GOP governor who hosted Trump for an Independence Day celebration at Mount Rushmore earlier this summer said Wednesday the president needs to be re-elected because the alternative option would lead to violence and disorder.

She referenced the recent civil unrest seen in cities such as Portland, Chicago and Kenosha, Wis., which have experienced vast swaths of protests against racial injustice, with periodic looting and vandalism that activists often dissociate from the grander Black Lives Matter movement.

We have violence and disorder now (in Democrat led cities).

This is not Trumps fault. It is the fault of Governors, Sheriffs and Mayors of the cities, counties and states where it occurs.

The first responsibility for stopping these crimes rest with the local and state governments. Trump has recognized this and has principally used the Bully Pulpit to call on those responsible to do their duty.

But eventually he should use the Constitutional power he has to ensure to the states a republican government. Where there is chaos there is no government and the Feds can step in.

They thought Trump would jump in with military personnel and then the Left would have their Kent State moment.

They thought Trump would jump in with military personnel and then the Left would have their Kent State moment.

I suspect the Leftist figured the riots were a win/win in relation to Trump.

If Trump sent in the troops and a few BLM rioters died, as you say, they have a Kent State moment.

If Trump sits by and lets it happen, Trump looks weak to his base.

But as usual the Lefties underestimate Trump and his supporters. Trump’s unique ability to communicate has again knocked them back on their heal.

It is the Leftist schemers that look weak and foolish. Their continuous lies about “mostly peaceful” protest when it is obvious to the casual observe that it doesn’t matter if most of the protestors are peaceful while entire cities are burned and looted.

You get the government you deserve Democrat voters. Wake up and choose to be Americans again.
