Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky cast President Donald Trump as an anti-war leader Tuesday during his speech at the Republican National Convention, saying he supported the president "because he believes as I do that a strong America cannot fight endless wars."
"We must not continue to leave our blood and treasure in Middle East quagmires," Paul said.
Paul described Trump as the first president in a generation "to seek to end war rather than start one."
He said the president is seeking to end the war in Afghanistan, which the United States invaded in 2001.
Over 2,000 U.S. service members have been killed in the mission, known as Operation Enduring Freedom.

Another dagger to heart of the GOPe & Ds.
I keep telling my knee-jerk hippie/leftist relatives: Trump is the only President in the last 30 years who hasnt started a war yet, and their true-love Obama single-handedly turned Libya and Syria into failed states, launched a war in Ukraine, and caused the greatest refugee flow in Europe since WWII.
But...But...we have always been at war with east Asia.
Trump and his view of “wars” is where Trump pleases many Libertarians, and where Trump has angered many of the former GOP deep staters who were involved in policies about our wars of the last couple decades. Trump’s election vows to get the nation out of its wars was a slap at former GOP state department, DOD, and white house foreign policy folks - the wars were their wars. From them came many of the “Former Republicans for Biden” groups.
The message is a real potent one and worth repeating. Biden has a lot of baggage as far as foreign policy is concerned. He has supported every war or conflict when he was a senator or VP as Rand pointed out in his speech,
I think it needs to be central to the campaign either to discourage liberals from voting for Biden or to win over independent voters. I think Rand could help with this.
