Unfortunately, that's correct.
Are these guys really ready to start shooting a would be looter/vandal should they rush at them while OUTSIDE the store and BEFORE any crime is committed?
The way things are right now, that would undoubtedly get them (the "good guys") arrested on murder/attempted murder charges. Ready to spend 20 to life behind bars?
The only way it makes sense to make such a stand is to be standing INSIDE the place of business. That way, if someone does break in, and you shoot them INSIDE the place of business in the act, a self defense plea is much more likely to work.
Now, of course, you run the risk of the place being fire bombed with you inside. Which is why you also need an exit plan or two (several fire extinguishers, a secondary exit, etc.) IF your willing to step out on that ledge.
Therein lies the quandary. Sadly, what is most needed is an operator who will take the initiative to take out those that the politicians are protecting for political reasons, while placing the citizenry at unending risk.
It will only require the removal of a select few of these marauding scum.
I can’t wait to see years from now when these feckless politicians are removed from office and must walk the streets without benefit of armed escorts.

It will take about two shakes of a sheep’s tail before it happens. The rioters are probably hopper up on dope and are not in their right minds anyway.
At that point the conservatives might start protesting and rioting against leftist activist unconstitutional DAs and judges. If cops wont defend us and we cant defend ourselves, what is left? Hand over the keys to our homes and the passcode to our business accounts to BLM? At that point we become the slaves. We would have no choice at that point.
