A key eyewitness in the police shooting of Jacob Blake on Sunday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, says that police told Blake to “drop the knife,” though he himself did not see Blake carrying a knife at the time.
The eyewitness has been identified by the Associated Press as Raysean White, and as the person who made the original cellphone video of the shooting.
The AP reported Tuesday:
The man who said he made the cellphone video, 22-year-old Raysean White, said he saw Blake scuffling with three officers and heard them yell, “Drop the knife! Drop the knife!” before the gunfire erupted. He said he didn’t see a knife in Blake’s hands.

fox news apparently reported he had a knife, and tried to get in some place- which if so, might have been why the police were there in the first place-

The “witness “ did not need to see the knife.
I’m sick of people acting like if they didn’t experience something themselves, it didn’t happen.
In other words, a deadly weapon in the hands of a known criminal who was refusing police orders and attempting to evade an possibly retrieve another weapon/gun. Hmmm, why don't Blacks listen to cops when they ask them to freeze?
Resisting arrest has consequences.
His failure and rebellion to fight police officers gets himself paralyzed. Pulling out a knife and ignoring police could have been avoided.
Not only that BUT trying to get into a car with 3 kids how were these police supposed to know whose kids those were!! Those kids would have been in a SPEEDING car with a knife wielding criminal, aside from the fact there was probably a firearm in the car also!!!!
Or is it a picture of vehicle keys—out to start the car nd get away? I dunno.
Kids could be hostages, police wouldn't know that with a deranged suspect.

How they looked to me, but could be a knife. Don’t know if Blake was high at the time, the LEOs have an idea from their contact with him. Did they know there was an active warrant out for him? If they didn’t, you can’t let him drive away with 3 kids in the back seat and start a chase.
the video appears to show a Karambit knife (non-folding hook billed knife) in his left hand as he is coming around the front of the vehicle.
