Better study the 70 weeks - Daniel 9:24-27 - more carefully.
A prophetic week is always seven years. Verse 25 breaks down 69 weeks (483 years). Verse 26 says Christ is cut off (crucified) after the 69 weeks (483 years) and Christ was crucified exactly 483 years after King Cyrus’ command to restore Jerusalem.
But what about the 70th week (seven years)?
Verse 27 tells us. “[H]e [the ‘abomination of desolation’ (’desolation’ mentioned in the previous verse) AKA the beast] shall confirm the covenant [the lying covenant with Israel] for one week [the 70th week]. The rest of verse 27 tells us about the utter desolations of the last 3 1/2 years detailed in Revelation 11:15-19:21.
No, there is much more to come. Arise and shine for your light is come!!! (Isaiah 60:1).
The 70th week of seven years is before what Christ prophesied - the destruction of the 2nd Temple (the temple Herod completed) - which was destroyed in 69 AD
Daniel in chapter 8:13-14 and 11:31 foretold about the actions of Antiochus Epiphanes who defiled the temple by entering its walls and sacrificing a pig on its altar. That ended with the victories of judas maccabee, that victory which is celebrated today as Hannukkah.
But Jesus specifically taught in the Olivet discourse about the destruction of the Temple in 69 AD -- Jesus refers to Daniel 9:28 and 12:11 --> Daniel refers to a period of 3.5 years, the exact duration of the first Jewish-Roman war that ended with the destruction of the temple -- in the Chapters 11 and 12 of the book of revelation, John emphasizes that these events all occur within the three and a half years that Daniela nd Jesus predicted.
Jesus had prophesied that this judgement would occur within the lifetime of His hearers This generation will not pass away till all these tings take place Matt 24:34 -- as in Luke 21:24 we read how the 42 months (3.5 years) are when the Gentiles "will trample over the holy city"
According to Josephus, the daily sacrifice dedicated to Nero in the temple in Jerusalem was halted in July 66 AD and that let tot he declaration of war in February 67 AD
The war ended precisely 42 months later when the temple was burned by Titus' troops in August of 70 AD
Daniel predicted these and Jesus foretold them in the Olivet discourse and John saw them in the book of Revelations
The "times of the Gentiles" was referring specifically to that time, 67 to 70 AD and not today. There is no longer a "times of the Gentiles" because the categories of Jew and Gentile are no longer relevant in the Kingdom of Christ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all Rom 10:12
"Every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues" is invited to eat at the Table of the Lord
The Great Tribulation in Rev says
17:13-14 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, "Who are these, clothed in white robes, adn whence have they come?" I said to him "Sir, you know." And he said to me "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."The washing of the robes means those who have been delivered
The Great Tribulation talks of how NERO persecuted God's people - this sustained and vicious tribulation of the Church started when Nero, the little horn, needed a scapegoat for the great fire of Rome. This state-sponsored persecution continued for about three years, until Nero diverted attention tot he Jewish-Roman war
Jesus clearly told the Sanhedrin that they would see evidence of the coming of the Son of man as predicted in Daniel 7:13 - for you to say this will happen after 2019 is FALSE. Jesus on the eve of His crucifixion made a promise to the Sanhedrin that THEY would see evidence of the coming of the Son of Man - he wasn't wrong by 2000 years!!!
Daniel clearly talks of the destruction of the Temple as the time of the Great Tribulation.Hebrews 9:24-25 christ has entered into Heaven itself, not to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer Himself repeatedly, as the High priest enters the Holy place yearly with blood not his own; for then He would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, He has appeared once and for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself
Daniel states that the purpose of the time is to bestow 6 blessings. These blessings were bestowed as a result of the first Advent The seventy weeks are decreed 'to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy."
The day when Christ was born, eternal righteousness was revealed, and the Saint of saints was anointed, namely Christ, and the vision and prophecy were sealed and those sins were remitted... It was because the prophecy was fulfilled by His advent that the vision was confirmed by a seal; and it was called a prophecy becuase Christ himself is the seal of all the prophets
Many who mistakenly believe the 19th century created concept of pre-Trib rapture forget that
