The police can see that there is a 99.9% chance they will lose their job and get prosecuted in this environment. I don’t get it either.
While it all looks innocent enough (now that it's known he didn't have a gun - or at least that's what has been reported), the cops do not know what will happen if he is allowed to get into his car where he may have a weapon at his disposal to use. Problem is they don't know and they have a split second to make a decision.
It is very easy to sit in your chair watching it on video and suggest what people should do. Being there, through the entire event, is differentwith absolutely no time to consider options.
