An activist accused people upset over the recent looting in downtown Chicago of being upset about the wrong thing during a recent press conference.
“People are worried about looting and there are literal lives being taken away? There are people who are dying and y’all are mad about looting Mag Mile? Get over it!” Alycia Moaton said at the event hosted by the group GoodKids MadCity.

These buildings are insured. Materials will come back, but we will not come back if they kill us. What do y’all not get about that? Gucci, Apple store, whatever it is, that stuff can be replaced. But we won’t be replaced. We lose our lives every single day for this cause, and y’all are mad about the wrong shit.

Well, only if you have the right insurance companies on your side...Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Remington, Colt, Ruger, Glock, H&K etc. come to mind. The LA "Roof Koreans" had it right in '92.

If someone burned down her house then told her “get over it, it’s insured”.... no doubt she’d claim she’s being victimized.
You can tell the woman owns nothing, has never insured anything and her rationalization says....’Cops are mean so we steal.’
Most insurance has an out in that they don’t cover damage from war, riot etc.
Doesn’t cover the people out of work or the period of time for rebuilding. No work no income. They don’t get it.

but pirates don’t consider that along with those broken windows and looted stores, that insurances don’t cover, are jobs. People who lose their income because they can’t go to work the next day or the day after or ever again in some stores that permanently close. People whose families now can’t eat because some pirate steals food from their mouths.
After no one rebuilds because the area is uninsurable or business owners decide to cut bait, she will be the first to cry about the lack of corporate and other business investment in the area. This is why bad neighborhoods have food deserts.

One discussion I heard last week said "Included in the statistics saying an unarmed black was deceased are incidents in which the suspect was firing at the police and later dropped the weapon during the encounter. This counts as an unarmed black killed by police."
My cousin has a meat business on the south side relatively close to Comiskey Park.
He said that some of his friends who actually live in the neighborhoods there have seen some amazing sights the last 90 days.
Specifically BLM has been blocked from crossing the highway bridges into some neighborhoods.
He says that at some point in each encounter, Latin gangs have asked the police to go away for 15 minutes, and they were obliged. Then they beat the crap out of the BLM agitators.
Another encounter had some black clad white kids riding through the neighborhood on bikes with backpacks. They were surrounded, stooped and searched. Each had thousands of dollars in gift cards and Molotov cocktails. Both the woman and man left beat up, without their bikes our supplies.
Further, he says the neighbors have started talking again, hanging out outside and patrolling their own neighborhoods.
I hope it is all true, and I hope it spreads. These people need to be treated harshly sometime soon.
