I remember Bill Laimbeer of the Pistons. Whenever he was in a tough spot, he would remember the inspiration of his Notre Dame coach and say “Digger!” under his breath. A lot of Black players were very upset at this.

The only thing that will bring professional sports back to normal is loss of revenue. If attendance is way down when fans are allowed to return to the stands and if viewership is down as well then changes will begin. Obviously, Otherwise owners and players won’t be able to continue their opulent lifestyles.
