Um, because then the police will come to get the store owners, charge them with murder, deny them bail, cheerfully doxx them, point AntiFa at their now unprotected families and refuse to do anything about it, thereby ruining their lives and possibly getting their family killed.
I was on a rooftop in LA in 1992. One of the reasons many of us were was because we *knew* the cops weren’t coming. If I had to do that again today, knowing that the police *would* come for me if I defended myself or the property underneath me? Not so sure I’d do it again.
