No, but it was his personality and policies that were the reasons he won. There are plenty of candidates who look promising at first and falter. Donald Trump won despite his campaign handicaps. Many of the people sent to the convention were Cruz supporters. There was a coup attempted that night. If Trump had not handled that right, it may have succeeded.
The pussy tape was another example. Apologize for it and move on. By the time Bannon came along, Donald had it won.
Bannon’s been blowing his own horn ever sense.

Steve Bannon was appointed chief executive of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign on August 17, 2016, three weeks after the convention and with only 88 days left until the election. Shortly after Bannon was hired, Paul Manafort was dismissed and Kellyanne Conway was hired to replace him as campaign chairman. Donald Trump did NOT ‘have it won’ when these two came on board. They did remarkable work over a very short period of time.
