Biden was spared in the primaries because there were lots of other yappt candidates to divide and limit his speaking time and allow him max respite to gather his mind. Plus Biden has deteriorated even further since then. And Covid gives an out for him to stay underwraps. If Hillary had has this kind of cover and inexposure, she might well have one.
