Steve Bannon says ‘fiasco’ indictment aims to stop border wall construction
NY Post ^ | August 20, 2020 | 7:43p | Reuven Fenton and Ben Feuerherd

A defiant Steve Bannon claimed Thursday that his bombshell indictment on fraud and money-laundering charges was a “fiasco” caused by people who want to block the construction of the border.

As he walked out of Manhattan federal court in Lower Manhattan Thursday, Bannon ripped off his surgical mask before claiming to members of the press that “this entire fiasco is to stop people who want to build the wall.”

The SDNY will soon be indicting Trump for theft.

The theft of the 2016 election.

And they got the proof. From Hillary and the Steele dossier and the Obama administration, aided by the crooked FBI and DOJ, and Schiff and Nadler and Nancy Pelosi.

Bannon’s crime is he is an unabashed nationalist. A lot of Freepers have problems with nationalism. Why? Because the are Chamber of Commerce globalists and real POS’s.

...I lost respect for Steve Bannon when he said that President Trump made the biggest political mistake of his presidency when he fired James Comey.

I think Bannon was right.

Firing Comey directly triggered the appointment of Mueller and the huge distraction of Russiagate for Trump's first 3 years.

Comey may have been a problem but firing him was a political mistake.

Because unabashed nationalists are as rare as hens teeth.

I will ignore your unnecessary personal insult because I respect you as a long-term Freeper. Instead I will address the above comment.

Steve Brannon is NOT equivalent to Hillary Clinton. Not by a long shot. But Bannon made a mistake that Hillary did not make. When the Clintons set up their fraudulent Clinton Foundation, they were careful. They didn’t promise that 100% of the contributions would go to charity.

But that’s just what Bannon did, if the indictment is to be believed. So either Bannon is very stupid or he is a criminal. I can’t see any other possibility.

Maybe you should wait. Pulling the trigger on Bannon like this is BS! He deserves to be treated innocent until proven guilty plus THIS IS ALL JUST A DANGEROUS POLITICAL PROSECUTION. EVEN IF HE DID IT, EVEN IF - THE WHOLE THING STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN. WE ARE IN A COLD CIVIL WAR STOP HELPING THE ENEMY.

A crook is a crook. But, of course, he’s innocent until proven guilty. Get back to me when the trial is over.

Yes, I agree with that - if Free Republic were a court of law. But FR is not a court of law. FR is a discussion board. So I think we should be free to express our opinions - without being personally insulted.

Think about that for a moment, central_va. If we are to hold to that “innocent until proven guilty standard”, then anyone who criticizes Hillary on FR should be zotted. Hillary has never been convicted in any court of law! Is Hillary therefore beyond any criticism here?

Is he really a patriotic nationalist, or another opportunist selling conservatives what they want to hear?

CNN: Read Trump's official statement about Steve Bannon.

No. We are in a cultural and spiritual civil war. Bannon is a nationalist and a patriot and I will support him even if he were guilty of doing what every congress person does on daily basis with pork spending and kick backs for campaigns. We have to be cynical as “they” are We are losing. Nice gets you pushed onto a cattle car headed towards the camps.

He articulates nationalism ( the good kind ) and is an anti globalist so this makes him a rare bird. I value him greatly.

...but I think his wealth also came from speaking engagements and guest appearances, cover magazines etc

If these accusations are true, it looks like these sources of revenue are gone...

On that I will most certainly agree! And we are not fighting for some income tax break or for some obscure regulation. We are fighting for the very life of the Republic.

My point here is that Bannon’s behavior weakens our cause. I am proud to defend Trump. But I will not defend scoundrels - from any party. If the indictment is to be believed, Bannon needs to go away. He is hurting us. And he is hurting our cause. I will not defend him.

I do not trust Steve Bannon, but I trust him more than the media, federal legal system and the dems.

Again with the personal insults. I would have preferred a good conversation. But as I noted before, I respect you as a long-term Freeper. So I will just wish you a good evening, and give you the last word if you want.
