Sub-Saharan Africa runs on the “Big Man” system. Donald Trump is the very embodiment of a Big Man. (This may also be why he inspires such fervent hatred among America’s feminized and soy-boy sectors.)
The author spews lies early in this article. So I stopped reading.
I stopped reading after the line with percentages of countries that like the US; it’s been my experience only liberal idiots give a damn about that. If I’m wrong and this isn’t a completely biased piece, somebody let me know will ya?
exactly. Lies upon lies. Starts with the lie about the “muslim ban” then the follows it up with the “fine people” lie... that’s all they have is lies.
How can this be? We were told that Trump is such a racist, in Nigeria is one of those sub-Saharan African countries full of black people.
She cannot question her own assumptions, so she determines that her friend has to be the one with wrong assumptions.
That was interesting to read since Fred comes out as being more reasoned than the author, who is clearly in the advanced stages of TDS syndrome. Yet, the author was at least able to describe Fred’s point of view in a way to make most of us willing to sit down with Fred for a beer.
“The author spews lies early in this article. So I stopped reading.”
Noticed that, too, although I skimmed to the middle:
“Fred shared similarly regressive thoughts about womens rights.. . . . I used to be a big feminist, he said. Im not anymore because feminism used to be and I support that that women have equal rights as men. But now its all man-bashing. Men are to be blamed for everything.
Not sure how that is “regressive”.
I guess “regressive” means “thought crime”.
True. But it’s interesting to hear what he friend has to say, and most places don’t even cover Trump’s popularity in Nigeria.
And all blacks think alike -Joe Biden
My doctor is from Nigeria, went to med school there in a mostly-muslim area. Did residency at US university. Best doc ever.
I know he’s Christian, ran into him in a store and he said he was just coming from Sunday school with the kids. He has a wife and three sons becoming teens quickly who will all need cars and college educations. Lives in a very nice area in a large home with, no doubt, a mortgage.
So I’m not seeing a “Big Man” theory at work here, I’m seeing a Republican who will vote for Trump for economic reasons.
As rip van biden might say: “One word. Come on maaaannnnn. Absentee ballots to Nigeria.”
EXACTLY what I thought and did, lol lol.
Maybe they’re hoping he will build a Mar-a-Lagos
In at least one unlikely country, however, perceptions remained fairly stable. In Nigeria, an impressive 59% of people said they had a lot or some confidence in the US president. By the time these surveys were conducted, Trump had described Africa as being full of shithole countries. He had imposed his Muslim ban (though not yet added Nigeria with its 90 million Muslims). And he had defended white nationalist protests as containing some very fine people. Yet despite these anti-Muslim and anti-black attitudes, a significant majority of Nigerians retained faith in him.
Partisan Media Shills update.
LOL. Good one.
“Why Do So Many Nigerians Love Donald Trump?”
Because they haven’t lived their lives getting the brainwashing treatment that African AMERICANS have gotten from the MSM and Dem party, that’s way.
England has no eternal friends, England has no perpetual enemies, England has only eternal and perpetual interests
- Lord Palmerston
True for all nations. Trying to make other countries love you is a fools errand.
“The author has a great many assumptions about reality, which are false.”
The fundamental problem of any leftist is that they hate reality and they are constantly on the march to change it, to make it “perfect”.
They see that men are not created equal, that real life is not fair, that races are not all the same, that cultures are not all the same, and all this “unfairness” just gnaws at them day and night and they can’t wait to fix it - even if it means killing and torturing millions, and miserably failing in the process.
We on the right see the same imperfect world, but instead of killing and torturing millions, we make the best of it by giving people the freedom to make the most of their lives as best as they can.
