The Democratic majority leader last week opened a pro-forma session of the House of Representatives with the Pledge of Allegiance well, most of it.
The U.S. House of Representatives is technically in session while its members are back home campaigning. So, every other day or so, to satisfy a constitutional requirement, they gavel a session in, say the prayer and the Pledge, then close the session. Last week it fell to Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland to do the honors.
Hoyer:" The chair will lead the House in the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Actually, after research it was Antonio Villaraigosa, DNC chair at the 2012 convention. Knew it was a hispanic.
“The original 2012 party platform caused controversy after it was written, because the typical invocations and references to God and God-given rights were omitted, and language affirming the role of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was removed. On Wednesday, September 5, former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland introduced an amendment on the floor of the convention to reinsert language invoking God and recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Convention chairman Antonio Villaraigosa put the amendment to a voice vote requiring a two-thirds majority for passage. After the first vote was indecisive, Villaraigosa called for a second vote, which was again met with an equal volume of “ayes” and “nos”. A woman standing to his left said, “You’ve got to rule, and then you’ve got to let them do what they’re gonna do.” Villaraigosa called a third vote with the same result. Villaraigosa then declared the amendment passed, causing an eruption of boos on the floor.”
Ok, that was it.
What’s your point?
Why should the Democrats be hypocrites? If the include “under God” in anything they say, they would be taking the Lord’s Name in vain, which is a sin.
Yeah, we wuz both wrong about the person, but not the action.
;>)
Just as well, since they would be blaspheming to recite "under God" when they want to put God under them, and the USA is less and less under God as it is.
They no doubt fear that had they said God’s name aloud they would be turned into pillars of salt.
What’s the difference?
They are both evil cults.
IOW,they're *all* atheists.
The difference is that they are both roads being used to lead people away from real Christianity.
Good use of alliteration in your headline!
Their endowments, university donations, and lewd art exhibit donations and camouflaged donations to causes like against sex slavery are their tithes...of course they do the set slavery...just donate to hide it...
Should have said “declare” instead of “say” alliteration’s sake. But I Digress..
They know their audience.
Wasnt it at the same convention where, on military night, they used a giant backdrop of naval destroyers and other ships in the navy, and some clever fellow in the press pointed out that the picture was of the Soviet Navy. I cant quite remember, but I dont think they took it down.
You couldn't think otherwise and I think the word "detractors" is misused here. Leaving the most important word out is not a detraction, it is, as it was meant to be, sacrilegious...a slap in the face of all religious believers. Mr. Hoyer is another career politician of 39 years...pro-abortion, pro affirmative action, a supporter of LGBT rights, obviously does not support or follow Constitutional Law and gets an F, from the NRA. Hoyer is in other words, a flaming liberal.
Yes!...I know some of the youtube commentators had it on their channels...so it still might be there.
