The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has released bodycam footage of a deputy-involved shooting that killed a man in Orlando.
The family of 22-year-old Salaythis Melvin had been pleading to see body camera video from the scene and was provided the footage an hour before it was released to the general public.
An online petition has about 3,000 signatures asking for deputies to release the video.

“He was a well known child. He was very popular in the community,” Melvin’s mother Michelin McKey told WFTV Channel 9 as she spoke briefly about her son, which is still too hard.
His parents told 9 Investigates they got the call about his death hours after an Orange County deputy chased him down at the Florida Mall and shot him in the back.
“We could’ve been at the hospital, could’ve been sitting by his side. Gets you kind of angry to know that the last moments of his life were spent alone,” Ryan Findley said.
Deputies had a warrant for 19-year-old Vanshawn Sands and were surveilling him at the Florida Mall last week. 9 Investigates found his Facebook page, where there are references to the "438 gang." Court records we dig through show the 438 is an ongoing feud with the Army gang, and may be the reason behind the shooting death of a 14-year-old this month. The two groups clashed again in July during a drive-by shooting on Powers Ridge Court in Pine Hills. One person was killed.

The guy was 22 years old. While he is certainly his mother’s child, he isn’t “a” child. He’s a grown man.
Always a child to a mom. Just like ones father is always Dad.
And. He was wearing a mask, while the sheriffs were not.

A 22 year old referred to as a child. Jeeze....There were 22 year olds with the rank of Captain, flying B-17 bombers over Germany.
The officer that was apparently leading the scene was cool, calm and professional.
Yeah. You see this stupid crap all the time. “They are kids”. Then you see they are in their 20s.
This “kid” was helming a 45foot Gunboat at age 19. Lol.

I never will understand why these parents name these kids these strange names.
Whatever happened to John, Jack, or Adam.
No, they want their kids to be special.
My opinion? they are REJECTING America and American culture, which includes names. The democrat party has been very successful in deceiving them into believing they don’t belong here.
