.
I had an Opel GT way back when.
Fun car.
bump
But no one is FORCED to buy them! (yet)
I got it when the last person gutted it, cut the top off hoping to make a convertible. (The unibody is not strong enough for that; a sub or a full frame must be constructed to get the necessary stiffness.
I bought two pickup loads of various parts of Opel gt stuff when there was not much demand for repairs any more.
A Buick dealer in a town a couple of counties north of me had off loaded it’s repair of them to one of their shop people.
He had a barn/shop outside of town where he repaired them, and he; too; finally got out of the business.
Alternators, water pump, carb, values rings, transmissions, seats, brake stuff.
I didn’t know there were so many variations of internals in just 4 years; cars that looked basically the same.
I once bought a perfectly good Kadett; just to get the rearend/differential. After tearing the car apart and saving all the running gear and other pieces; I found that the Kadett rearend was 2-3 inches wider than the GT’s!!
