I believe you, and DAC21, that many won’t return as it’s not incentizived. I would far prefer everything opens completely, and we return to “normal”. That’s going to take longer than November, and we need to win as the number one priority.
Also, for every story like yours, there’s one where the person has no job to return to.
My original point was how DAC21 essentially, in my opinion, called everyone lazy that was getting UI benefits. Maybe I took it wrong.
Many people are taking UI for the first time in their life after putting in for 10,20,30 years. Those people will always be a net benefit to society, at least economically.
I have worked since I was 16 years old. Prior to that was babysitting weekends for younger kids in the neighborhood.
I am 57 years old now. Given current circumstances I have been toying with the idea of early retirement and just selling off the client list.
I’ve done my time, struggle, and tax payments. As my attitude shifts to one of real resentment, I want my cut of the money I was FORCED to provide for everyone else. And no, I don’t get PUA because my injury isn’t Covid related. Although I have thought about going to get tested and hoping for a false positive result.
