3rd solution: tear down four hydroelectric dams in Northern California, which is perfect for producing three calamities in one: 1.) eliminates flood control, so expect major floods periodically that destroy property and people; 2; increases water-rationing in the urban centers during drought conditions; 3.) increases rolling power blackouts in the urban centers ...
Wind and Solar: Expensive, intermittent, unreliable.
There are a lot of right-thinking FReepers in California who might take issue with that.
Including JimRob, who owns this site.
Also, I think FR's servers are in California, so you're sawing the limb you're standing on.
Just sayin'.
So what? They should hook up their power grid to their condescending, self righteous, morally superior generator and they’ll have all the power they need.
Funny thing about wind power, it does not work in a low wind environment. Funny thing about solar, it does not work well in a cloudy or night time environment.
I guess this time they will sue PGE for not having the power derived from sources they demanded they not use.
They lost a 450MW power plant? Where did it go???
“There are a lot of right-thinking FReepers in California who might take issue with that.”
Agreed.
It’s time to stop trashing entire states where 30-49% of the people are good Americans! Trash the governance, not the state.
Just effin F'EM ! !
Brilliant!
Just wait for the Santana Winds.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Where are they going to get the flux capacitor?
“Im sure the Pelosis have ample fossil fuel generator power for her ice cream freezers.”
oh, no doubt ... the elites will all have natural gas fired, whole-house generators, so that only the peasants will suffer ...
So if this power shortage is caused by increased consumer demand due to the heat wave, why not ban the use of air conditioning, prohibit its installation in new housing and mandate its removal from existing homes. Seems like the perfect totalitarian solution.
Keep voting for Democrats if you enjoy seeing them screw up late 19th century advancements...
Where are they going to get the flux capacitor?
Easy. California Democrat engineering - they’ll pass a law ordering PG&E to deliver one within 90 days.
Reminds me of a CA guy I was debating about the San Onofre tragedy and he said he wasn't worried about SONGS shutting down. He was getting an EV and solar panels on the roof of his garage to recharge it. I asked him how he was going to recharge his EV from his solar panels if he was driving it around during the day. He said he had that covered, because he sized the panels so when he got home from work he'd plug the EV into the solar panel recharger, and that an overnight charge from them would top off his EV batteries.
Dontcha just love it?
Hey, folks survived in the 1940’s with not much AC to speak of. And wore a lot more clothes than some folks do today. Embrace the suck.
Yeah, Ive been following Gov Gabby Nuisance on ripping out 4 dams and the hydro power they produce on the Klamath River.
Its projected to cost $450,000,000 to demolish the dams and hes trying to get Warren Buffett to split costs with him Because Berkshire H owns a majority of the stock. What?
Leadership that wastes money, reduces water storage and power generation.
Youd think our Idiot governor would be embarrassed to flout this idea ?
