Q: "Do you want to give Edward Snowden a pardon and bring him back?"

Why is he even thinking about this? Isn’t there enough on his plate already?
Senator Paul tweeted the other day that he should be given a pardon so its been in the news and some reporter asked him about it

need to counter the black op deep state machine
I don’t recall a trial or conviction, so is a pardon even possible?
NYT now reporting it:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/15/us/politics/trump-snowden-esper.html
For Mr. Snowden, a pardon would be a chance to return to the United States. In 2013, he was charged with violating the Espionage Act, which carries a prison sentence. As long as he faces those charges, Mr. Snowden has said he will not return to the United States. Human rights groups previously urged President Barack Obama to pardon Mr. Snowden, but they had no success.

Hahah that’s because Obama was a FRAUD... Trump is the real deal. If he pardon’s Snowden it would be huge.
Yes. I believe a ‘preemptive’ pardon can be issued by the president. Nixon got one, didn’t he?
Because of Shadow Gate.
The US intelligence community was effectively behind spying on candidate Trump and then supporting a completely fake and manufactured scandal to try and remove President Trump. It was an internal coup detat.
There are a few heroes in this story, like Admiral Mike Rogers, but there are many more villains. If I were Trump, I would try to rip the lid off all of it. And pardoning Snowden would be a first step. But thats just me.
People think China or Russia will destroy the American Republic No. They will simply be on the outside, waiting for Americas own internal enemies to destroy her first.
Good. Anyone that exposes the CIA, or any other three letter agency is a friend of mine.
OK, it suddenly pops up in the news cycle and some people start talking about it but I still don’t see the urgency or payoff in Trump joining in on the discussion just a couple months before the election. He should be focusing like a laser beam on the key issues that the country is struggling with IMO. That’s the stuff that will get him re-elected. Nobody outside of the DC Beltway cares about Snowden right now. He’s a sideshow.
I think maybe Trump sees votes in it or kudos especially from civil libertarians either right or left. Interesting he mentioned that in his answer to the reporter...
Edward Snowden is a hero to the American people.
He needs a pardon AND a big statue.
You underestimate this President.
You may be right. But he seems to feel compelled to comment on everything. That’s not really his job IMO. We have countless problems that are far more serious (even existential) than Snowden right now. Just my humble opinion.
I’ve donated a lot to Trump and want to see him win. As in war, you have to pick and choose the battles you want to fight and which have the highest payoff. Snowden is a skirmish; not worth fighting, at least at this point in time.
How to make progressive heads explode in three easy steps.
1) Explain how Edward Snowden was actually a patriot for exposing illegal, secret surveillance of all Americans by intelligence services.
2) Explain how Obama and the intelligence services illegally abused information from such surveillance to spy on the Trump campaign and to undermine the Trump Administration.
3) Pardon Edward Snowden.
Right now Trump is just baiting the Dimwitted Party’s Presidential Candidate or his Top Cop VP to condemn the idea of a Snowden pardon. After the pardon, the corporate media will return to “Russia! Russia! Russia!” mode.
This really is entertaining, and I think it strongly favors Trump. I know several serious people who will vote for Trump if he pardons Snowden.
Trump is a multitasking president.
I recognize that but if he loses in November that won’t do us much good, will it?
This election is for all the marbles. Time to focus on what’s in the circle.
p
Yeah, just tell our 'intelligence thugs' to leave him alone...
