Not mocking but America isn’t a person. There are 330 million people here. I’d say the majority are still good people.
That may change soon. But God gave us free will to make bad decisions and mess things up and our punishment or reward is at death. It would make no sense to give free will to us to screw something up and then punish us here right now. The punishment is afterwards.
the punishment from ourselves is now. It is the decay in the moral fabric that leads to self-destruction. God doesn’t have to lift a finger for that.
only to our small minds is our Life Time an.eternity. It is a blink and we will be judged at the end.
Diseases and earthquakes and tornadoes and hurricanes are natural incidences. God’s punishment comes when we are not of this Earth anymore.

America isn’t eternal. There is no proof that if there were a nation repentance, she’d survive. Hezekiah can attest to that.
Once you pass the point of no return, national judgment. It’s not like we didn’t know killing babies and celebrating homosexuality would end well for us.
Besides, Israel has to become center stage again. That means we as a nation must decrease or disappear. I’m OK with that. God’s will and stuff.

Surely some in Judah were pious and righteous when Babylon came. Yet all bore the burden. When God acts in history (assuming the Biblical POV,) it’s wholesale. Innocent child and righteous sage were driven to Babylon along with the cheats, liars, and idolaters.

That phrase reminds me of astronomy, specifically the boundary around a black hole called the "event horizon". Once something (star, planet, even light itself) passes the event horizon, that's it. Done. Toast. Buh-bye. No coming back.
