More Felony Charges for More Officers from Deadly 2019 Houston No-Knock Raid

On 28 January, 2019, a Houston Police Department Narcotics unit executed a no-knock warrant on an innocent Houston Couple, Dennis Tuttle, a disabled Navy veteran, and his wife Rhogena Nicholas, a devout Christian.

The raid was based on lies told to the court, about drug sales that never happened, to obtain the warrant. The couple were not drug dealers. When armed men burst into their home, without warning, and killed their dog, Denis Tuttle is said to have fought back with his .357 revolver.

Dennis and his wife Rhogena and their dog were all killed. The organizer of the raid, then officer Gerald Goins, was wounded in the neck. He could not talk. That may be why the coverup fell apart. Three other officers were wounded.

Over the next year and a half, investigations forced onto the Houston police department by citizens, the FBI, the Tuttle family, and the Harris County Prosecutor, unraveled a story of corruption and lack of accountability that lead to the Tuttle deaths.

Two officers, Goins and his Partner, Steven Bryant, retired from the department, and were charged with both state and federal crimes. Hundreds of cases were brought into doubt. Harris County District Attorney, Kim Ogg announced a thorough, deep investigation into the Houston PD, especially the Narcotics squad 15, which had conducted the raid.

Now, a year and a half after the murder of Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas, a grand jury has come out with indictments for four more officers. All of the officers retired since the investigation into the raid began.

Prosecutors charged six officers, including Goins and Bryant, on 1 July, 2020.

Have the drugs the cops planned to plant at the scene ever been recovered?

Outlaw no-knock warrants - no matter what political persuasion you are, you should not be OK with the idea of police breaking down your door and entering your house with no warning or announcement, and shooting you if you object.

You just halt right there, pal. These were NOT NOBODIES!

Oh, get over your drama queen self. I meant that they weren't drug dealers or criminals and were just ordinary people. They were nobodies in the sense that they should not have been on anybody's radar. Now they are murder victims.

“I am still baffled as to why Goins mounted a raid to kill two nobodies and a dog.”

He did raids on a bunch of people that were basically framed. There were throw down drugs found in the back of his car.

This thing is going to get big once discovery really gets into gear.

I’ve been wondering why LeBron and the rest of the NBA thugs don’t have Dennis & Rhogena’s names on their jerseys alongside Breonna Taylor.

Yes, but these people appear to be completely innocent "nobodies", not connected to the drug trade. I still can't see why he'd want to kill them and plant drugs to make it look good. Why did he think the Tuttles were worth killing and framing? They were just quiet middle-aged people. I could see it if they were wealthy and had a lot of stuff to steal (money, drugs, jewelry, etc). They appear to have been normal people living modestly.

The reason they were caught was because their lies to cover their dastardly deed became so outrageous that no one believed them. The brass said among themselves If I o.k. this, my tit might get caught in the wringer later om.

“Why did he think the Tuttles were worth killing and framing?”

Because he was banging the “informant” who had a beef with them. And he’d gotten away with it for decades.

That’s why.

I had not heard that. I guess that's a motive.

Because he could. And up till that time in the day they had not killed any people or any dogs. So they scored a trifecta. Two people one dog. They would have enjoyed it more if it had been two dogs. But who is perfect? Sometimes you have to go with what you got. The Chief defended them until the last dog was hung. Then when he saw that his tit might get caught in the wringer, he turned on them on a dime./p>

Nor have I. The Police hold the law abiding Citizen in the same degree of contempt as they do the criminal. The “Back the Blue” crows labors under the misconception that if they kiss the Police’s ass good enough they will protect them. I understand that because until I wised up, to a certain extent, I did that. “The Blue” will lock you or me up quicker than they will a rioter

All a “Letter of apology” does is use ink and kill a tree. It don’t mean shit. The Chief, especially this one does not care. He is so crooked that when he dies, they will have to screw him in the ground. They won’t be able to dig a grave crooked enough to bury him in.

Oh, get over your drama queen self.

You're the one that needs to get off a high horse and stop defending your own lack of humility.

The reason these badged criminals acted the way they did is by sitting on their high horse (like your mindset) thinking that people not wearing the official blue were NOT worthy of the respect due them, being of less consquence, squatters existing outside the closed fraternal organization of Policemen.

And by their mode of death, this couple (one a Navy veteran) will never be considered "nobodies" again. They never were "nobodies" to the God Who created them.

Being born as an American Citizen, I am a "somebody" and contrary to your opinion, not a drama queen nobody; and from that position, I have been correcting you for your clear attitude that others going about their normal life are "nododies" (as compared to yourself).

No wonder that you are ". . . still baffled as to why Goins mounted a raid to kill two nobodies and a dog . . ." . Your bafflement comes from the fact that these lawmen had attitudes just like yours--the target residence was that of "nobodies" upon whom they could exercise lethal force, people unworthy to be warned of the entry or to even lift their hands against it.

Yes, the three were victims, not merely murder as an after-action result as you apparently presumed, but prior to the deadly surprise entry. The residents were victims before unlawful summary execution by perpetrators hiding behind the badge and unwilling to admit their premeditated departure from lawful exercise of their commission.

What would you have done in their place? Are you a . . . "nobody"?

To: drop 50 and fire for effect

The ONLY justification for a no-knock raid is a hostage situation.

If there is evidence destroyed, that’s too bad. If the cops can’t make a case without “no-knock” raids, thereby endangering the public THEY SERVE, they are incompetent and should get jobs as mall cops.

Yes, in the scheme of things as far as showing up on the police radar.

You are a boring fool who is in love with the sound of his own sanctimonious voice. You somehow seem to think I do not value the lives of the Tuttles. Too bad FR does not have an "ignore" feature. You are not worth another moment of my time of FR's bandwidth.

Wonder what it was that he couldn't plant that evidence inside that house?

I suspect getting shot in the throat by somebody trying to defend their home and wife against a group of home invading criminals using their police uniforms as a disguise foiled Goinses' plans. Since he reportedly couldn't talk he couldn't even coordinate the lies needed for a cover-up with his fellow criminal policemen.

And now he should be headed to prison for the rest of his life. Some of his associates should be joining him.

All this kind of police activity leads me to te conclusion that I should post a clearly visible warning on my own door:
ANY ATTEMPT AT

UNWARNED FORCIBLE ENTRY

WILL BE CONSIDERED UNLAWFUL

AND WILL BE MET WITH IMMEDIATE

-- L E T H A L . F O R C E --

BE WARNED !
That should do it. No excuse for lawmen to ignore a civil approach.
