It IS kind of odd that everyone’s getting 100%. I think I’ll do what real saxophonist did and see what the results are, just for the heck of it. I’m curious now. :-)
“100% - You’re A True 80s Movie Maven!!”
Had to guess on some.
Until I saw almost everyone else score 100%.
I know we’re all really smart, but I’m thinking the same thing. Oh, well, I felt smart for a moment. LOL!
100% - You're A True 80s Movie Maven!!!
Wow! You know an incredible amount about movies, way more than the average person!!! 80's movies are hands down your FAVORITE decade of film, with classics like Dirty Dancing, The Breakfast Club, and Back To The Future, who could disagree?? Celebrate this AWESOME score by throwing on your favorite one of these 80's classics!
Most I knew without the multiple choice, but I guessed entirely on Breakfast Sixteen in Pink (or whatever all those Molly Ringwald movies were)
I know huh! They were all the same movie. LOL!
Me, too! We’re that good. :)
Kinda makes ya wonder...maybe you’re just lucky!
Or the quiz has a fatal flaw. Anyway, it’s fun reading the results.
Ok, I went back and did it again and got this, after answering all of them wrong.
“So Close!
You may have missed more than a few, and it’s too bad! You tend to have a very good memory for movies and entertainment, so re-take this quiz and get the score you know you deserve! 80’s movies are your jam, so prove your skills to yourself and your friends.”
Looks like whoever came up with it is one of those “participation trophy” types. Can’t hurt anyone’s widdle feewings. LOL
Right! When I saw Women at the top, I knew it had to be skewed. But I didn’t know how much! I took another test and got 100% too. I’m pretty sure I didn’t know all of them.
What a bummer. Scratch this one from the list of repeats.
Heh...I was really full of myself until I took the other tests...:) I have no doubt my wife would have been rolling her eyes at my genius..."Hey Genius, can you finish doing the dishes when you're done being full of yourself?"
I wasn't surprised about the movie one, though...I used to go to a couple of movies a week back then...:)
Last movie I saw in a theater was Midway. Loved it for the most part, but I don't like going to theaters any more. I had to gripe at a whole row of teenagers texting and talking. I asked them politely to stop, and they did.
For about 15 seconds. Eh. Isn't worth it to me anymore. Most movies now pretty much suck. Not all, some reasonably decent ones get through once in a while, but I watch most at home.
Sigh. I miss going to real theaters that were in decent shape...there was something more engrossing and more communal about it with a group of friends.
Here is the one in my town were I have been for a long time now...this was built in 1948 and got pretty dingy and musty and they fixed it up beautifully.
This is the outside:
This is the inside, those Chinese tapestries or some Chinese royalty (a man and a woman) were hung on either side, and they got to looking really sad at one point. The theater really had a hard time of it for about 20 years (I had begun going to it back in the 70's IIRC, and it was run down then, finally closing in 2012. Some guy bought it and really did a nice job renovating it.
They got state of the art sound and video, but they also can use these, apparently which they restored:
My heart goes out to them, because they purchased an empty restaurant space attached but they apparently couldn't pry it away from the owners, and they got it about 90% complete when the COVID hit. They have had to close the theater, but they were able after a delay to open the ice cream shop.
I really like the place. It isn't like going to the big mega cinemas which have kids who couldn't give a hoot about it and they gouge you for anything to snack on.
These people have clean cut kids who appear to be into it. It is family owned, a labor of love. Around Christmas for a few years, they open the theater for free and show "It's A Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 38th Street".
And thy charge REASONABLE prices for food and drink. I wish I went more, but, well, I am getting older and more cratchety.
What an exquisite piece of architecture and a place of so many movie memories.
Yep...I took another one, too [the Vintage one] and got 100%. I know a lot about that stuff, but not that much! LOL!
Hahaha...in my brain, I was strutting’ around like a peacock...:)
LOL! Well strut away! :) And thanks for taking it!
My Red diesel truck is back with a news transmission. YAY!
I am slowly getting the 08 F250 running and on the road but
I do finally have a truck back,
Thanks for trying
I always appreciate your threads...you get a nice, mellow, congenial crowd on them...it is a nice break.
I got ‘em all right! 100%! Woo Hoo!
It was fun any way. I was a little surprised at how many of the movies I HAD seen. I’ve seen them on TV, though, because obnoxious people who won’t shut up turned me off from theaters years ago.
There’s a drive-in theater just outside of town but there hasn’t been anything I wanted to watch since they built it.
