hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Bible in a Year:
Dont call me Naomi, she told them. Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter.
Nicknames arent limited to campwe even find them used in the Bible. For example, Jesus dubs the apostles James and John the sons of thunder (Mark 3:17). Its rare in Scripture for someone to give themselves a nickname, yet it happens when a woman named Naomi asks people to call her Mara, which means bitterness (Ruth 1:20), because both her husband and two sons had died. She felt that God had made her life bitter (v. 21).
The new name Naomi gave herself didnt stick, however, because those devastating losses were not the end of her story. In the midst of her sorrow, God had blessed her with a loving daughter-in-law, Ruth, who eventually remarried and had a son, creating a family for Naomi again.
Although we might sometimes be tempted to give ourselves bitter nicknames, like failure or unloved, based on difficulties weve experienced or mistakes weve made, those names are not the end of our stories. We can replace those labels with the name God has given each of us, loved one (Romans 9:25), and look for the ways Hes providing for us in even the most challenging of times.
Think of a nickname someone gave you. What did you like or not like about it? How does being called a beloved child of God change how you see yourself?
Heavenly Father, thank You that Im not defined by the circumstances or experiences of my life. Thank You for calling me Your child.
YAY!!
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Howdy, lauren.
Did I get lucky and slip in before you have to get back to work? :-)
I hope things aren’t too crazy for you these days.
Howdy radu!
Just heading out, so good to see you!
Hope you are doing well.
Heat wave headed your way soon, it was 108 heat index here today, will be that way all week.
EEEEEEEEEEKKK!
Yippeeee! I made it in the nick of time for once. LOL
I’m not here long either. Tackling another huge mess in Hubby’s aunt’s house and need to head over there. Can’t do it during the day because it’s too hot.
Heat wave isn’t heading here. It’s BEEN here. LOL! We’re dyin’.
Still enjoying nice temps up there? If so, pleeeeeeeeeeeease send some this way!
Did y'all have a large time at the shooting range the other day? I hope nothing came up to postpone the fun.
Can't say we're having much fun here these days. Hubby finally took the chainsaw to the attic room door at Clara's so we could get in and this is what I've been tackling .....
And that's just the tip of the iceberg! There's a lot behind that mess and to the right. But once I get past Clara's mess, there's a lot of stuff stashed by Hubby's grandparents and great-grandparents. THAT'S what keeps me motivated.
Seriously...you never know what you might find!

Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...you and Blue still enjoying the weather? Penny, too?
Overcast most all day here, but the sun is coming out now.
Good evening, Mayor, and thanks for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Hope your Monday went well, and the welder did a good job.
Our weather has been going between real hot and hot, the weekend was nice and we warmed up today.
Son and I did get out to our range on Friday and had a good time, then brought lunch home.
Good grief, Aunt Clara had a horde of 'stuff' up there, huh?
Very cool that so many generations of Hubby's family homesteaded there, it'll be interesting to hear what you eventually find, keep us posted.
