Editor's note: With the deteriorating relations between China and the United States, the U.S. has intensified its pressure on China, especially the Chinese technical companies. Mario Cavolo is a senior fellow at the Center for China and Globalization. In this video, he shares his views on U.S.' attacks and threats against Huawei and China. The article reflects the author's opinions, and not necessarily views of CGTN.

Author claims that:
* It is not true that Huawei is owned and controlled by the Chinese government.
* We know from U.S., UK and German inquiries that they are neither of those two things because Huawei handed over its entire source code to be examined?
* Huawei offered to sign a mutual no backdoor pact and it was the other parties who wouldnt sign it.
* There is contradiction between U.S. law, which requires social media firms to hand over user data to its national security agencies. The very accusation which Huawei is not doing, is exactly what the United States is doing to every American citizen.

Mario, come back when you learn how nations skew economics to their advantage when they have been disadvantaged in the relationship for decades. No one cares about preserving your little job in China other than yourself.

if you do business with Verizon in the U.S., you are doing business with a company and country that has killed millions of innocent civilians in Vietnam, Cambodia and all across the Middle East, that is the warmongering history of the U.S., is it not? THIS America-hating scumbag is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce? No wonder the same seditious vermin are always fighting here for open borders, mass amnesty, unlimited H1-Bs, DACA and zero tariffs against China.

“a member of the American Chamber of Commerce”
Well, that says a lot about where his allegiance and self interest lie.

CGTN is the Communist Party’s mouthpiece.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CGTN_(TV_channel)
[CGTN (China Global Television Network), formerly known as CCTV-9 and CCTV News, is an international English-language news channel based in Beijing owned by China Central Television, a state-controlled broadcaster. It has been referred to as a mouthpiece of Chinese government.[1][2] A part of the China Global Television Network group, it is owned and operated by China Central Television (CCTV), a state-owned media organization of China, under the control of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China.[3] The service is aimed at the overseas market, and it was launched on 25 September 2000. Coverage includes newscasts, in-depth reports, and commentary programs, as well as feature presentations. Its free-to-air satellite signal is received in over 100 countries.
CGTN is registered as a foreign agent in the US.[4] In February 2020, the United States Department of State designated CGTN and other Chinese state-owned media outlets as “foreign missions.”[5] ]

I work for a major IT networking company that competes with Huawei across the globe. I can tell you that it is proven fact that the company is criminal. They steal 90% of their technology from Cisco and others. The. They sell it for 1/5 of the price. They are state-run and corrupt to the core. The author of this article is an American? No.... he is a traitor.

The writing style is that of a CCP writer. 100% propaganda in style and content. If this traitor is a US citizen, the State Department should be examining his activities closely.

Imagine how all this must feel for someone like myself. I'm an Italian American, living here in China for 21 years, and a member of the American Chamber of Commerce which encourages the important ties our businesses and families share here on the ground. And we have to watch American leadership act like this?In other words "I am selling out America and making money doing it". You are a GD traitor.

Because of travel restrictions, the corrupt Chinese elite have one less nation in which to launder their dirty money. They run the risk at home of being outed and jailed. Boo hoo for them.
