What a bunch of hand wringers. You're concerned about the health of the encampment but not the disgusting blight that is in middle of your neighborhood?

It’s not plight, it’s blight. Liberals are not doing the “homeless” any favors by letting them indulge in drugs, alcohol and mental illness. The problem is not that they are homeless. The problem is that they are not functional as human beings. They have problems that probably divide up into four categories. The three listed above and then, the rare person who has just fallen on hard times. The fact that society indulges them allows them to continue to live as they are without solving their problems. Only the rare case could be handled by a social worker.
We did not have this problem until the ACLU forced the closure of mental institutions. The inmates were given a bottle of pills and turned out on the streets. At some point society has to start caring for those who are functional in society by keeping them safe from predation and disease.

The Secretary of HHS is now in Taiwan for talks. They ought to include what the Taiwan government does to deal with crap like this. Then we need to do it here. After all, we do have a much higher GDP per person than Taiwan does.
Which leads us to the inescapable conclusion that libertarians are either liars or genuinely stupid. I say it's the latter.
The answer is to spread the problem around and Allow Homeless Camping anywhere within 1000 feet of Any Officer of the Court or Elected Official’s personal Residence.

JFK Parwway and Fairmount Park as a whole used to be absolutely magnificent and like everything else the left touches,it is now a sh*thole. The leftist rot is growing into once untouchable areas soon to come to the ‘burbs.
