This will be a weekly post.
Count is now 203 judges confirmed.
2 Trade Court judges
146 District Court judges
53 Circuit Court judges
2 Supreme Court justices
As of August 1st, Trump was tied with Carter for the most judges confirmed in a single term (the Congress at the time created a whole slew of new judgeships and Ted Kennedy speedily got them through).
Trump has now exceeded Carter. Another Trump record!
A 2nd term will bring more Circuit and Supreme Court confirmations!
Oops. Memory error. Trump tied Clinton in judges at this point in his first term.
Carter had 262 judges confirmed.
See what happens when I write this too early.
Any idea on the outlook for the rest of the first term? Lot of variables. How many appointees are queued up?
How many vacancies are open?
There are currently 41 nominees pending, 19 of which are waiting for a vote on the floor.
Who was confirmed, and for what court?
Confirmed, 55-42: Executive Calendar #645 John Peter Cronan to be U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York.
