Backdoor handgun ban up for a vote in California
Press California ^ | 8/7/2020 | Staff Report

Sacramento, Calif. — A proposed amendment to California’s Handguns Certified for Sale law seems like a minor change at first, but Second Amendment advocates warn that it would amount to a de facto ban on handgun sales in the state.

AB 2847, would relax the state’s difficult microstamping requirements, but at the same time, it would remove three older handgun models for every new handgun it adds to the official roster of those safe for sale.

“In theory it makes the California microstamping or handgun roster easier for manufacturers to comply with,” said gun rights activist Reno May.

“What it really is is a backdoor handgun ban that would slowly remove guns and make it so that guns could not be added in the future. This is a bad bill,” he cautioned on Thursday.

The measure, sponsored by Assembly Member David Chiu (D-17), passed the Senate Public Safety Committee last week.

“It’s a legislative attempt to legitimize California’s arbitrary and irrational ‘safe’ handgun roster,” warns the Firearms Policy Coalition.

“AB 2847 is an attempt to save a clearly unconstitutional law, and further restrict the rights of Californians.”

Reno and others note that mandatory microstamps, meant to identify handguns, are easily removable, rendering them ineffective.

This bill is scheduled for a vote by the Senate Appropriations committee on August 13th.

Almost job kat would obey such an illegal “law” anyway. Especially now that the Democrat Nazi Commies are rioting in the streets and breaking into people’s homes and shops. A more demented proposal would be difficult to imagine anyway but the timing of this couldn’t be Worse

Hard to believe this is the same state that turned down a handgun registration and ban scheme back in 1982. CBS TV even put on an hour long anti-gun screed the night before the vote. Guaranteed to “pass”, it still lost big.

https://ballotpedia.org/California_Proposition_15,_Handgun_Registration_Initiative_(1982)

When the handgun ban failed they went after “As-s-s-ault rifles!” then started looking for ways to ban handguns by other means.

And for quite a few decades now, more on the way.

I've heard that there are people, many of them vets and service personnel, who have gained many skills in the building and reconditioning firearms, and will carry out such skills in the right kind of loyal and reciprocal relationship.

Just sayin'...I've heard.

The state I live in is much too oppressive to carry out such activities, no matter how close the friendship.

But they are out there. So some say.

Also, if the communists were winning they would have been able to conceal their anti-black racism long enough to win in 2020.

But in November you’ll see they’ve lost at least ten and as much as twenty-five percent of the black vote!

The harder they make it to legally acquire a gun, the more the black market will flourish. Then ask yourself who is more likely to be purchasing guns illegally?

Defund the police.
Ban law abiding citizens arms.
What could possibly go wrong?

California is the biggest market for firearms in the U.S. Probably due to the fact that it is the most populous state, and not everyone there is a flaming leftist.
