U.S. economy gains 1.8 million jobs as recovery loses momentum

The U.S. economy added 1.76 million jobs in July, down from 4.8 million jobs added in June, according to the monthly employment report released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The unemployment rate fell from 11.1 percent to 10.2 percent.

While the numbers were better than expected, the bleak data adds to economists’ fears that the labor market recovery is flagging, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep through large swaths of the country.

“We are seeing evidence that the economic recovery is losing steam. It's not reversing, but it looks like growth is flattening out,” said Daniel Zhao, senior economist at Glassdoor. “It seems like the recovery has slowed down and appears to be getting stuck in the doldrums.”

Wow, the spin is hard. “While the numbers were better than expected...” That’s all i need to read. Starting that sentence with “while” says a lot.

lol. Beats expectations and lowers the unemployment rate more than expected. Yet they report it as bad news. The media is the enemy.

Unemployment rate fell.
Numbers were better than expected.

MSM message: recovery loses momentum and we’re all gonna die.

Loses momentum?

We are gaining jobs. And we are falling behind? That makes no sense.

Also in July was more government forced closures of millions of businesses. Kinda hard to have a job when the government forces you closed. I really hate these evil people.

Testing positive for Covid-19 is a negative for anyone.

A positive number for employment is a negative, as far as NBC is concerned.

The unemployment rate dropping is also a negative, but, with most economists, it’s a positive. With NBC, is not good news.

In other words the Enemedia is pissed because it was supposed to be the Great Depression II by now. Things are certainly bad, but they could be much worse. They underestimate the resilience of the American people.

The media thinks we should all stay home and be satisfied with $600 a month. As if that’s the silver bullet, socialism.

Yup. It's clearly deliberate to scuttle the recovery. It's why I sense Trump is about to pivot out of his standing position that "the governors are doing a great job". SOME governors are doing a great job. He praised Ducey the other day. Meanwhile Pence was out on the stump ripping into Cuomo over nursing homes. It's time.

Approved version:
As the anticipated election of Joe Biden approaches, the US economy added a remarkable 1.76 million new jobs in July.

While the numbers were better than expected, the bleak data adds to economists’ fears that the labor market recovery is flagging,

In sum, numbers were better than expected, but regardless fears increased. They don’t even try to hide their obvious contradictions.

They have the stupidest people writing their propaganda.

The people coming out of J-School these days are some of the dumbest bricks on the planet.

All of the spelling and grammatical errors in cable TV news scrawls proves it.
