Weekly Updates by Select Demographic and Geographic Characteristics Provisional Death Counts for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
After looking at the chart, don't forget to also click at the link at the top of the page that says "Excess Deaths Associated with COVID-19". There it can be seen that we are barely above the typical number of deaths for this time of the year and we will likely soon be at less than the typical number of deaths.
94% of all Coronavirus deaths this year had serious "comorbidities" associated with them.
If you look at the link
Daily Updates of Totals by Week and State
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm
You will see that overall deaths have been up by 10% this year, but if you go to the bottom of the first list you will see that for the week ending July 25 deaths were 83% of normal, and for the week ending August 1 deaths were just 40% of normal. This is because Covid-19 took out the low hanging fruit with co-morbidities and at this point in time less people are now dying nationwide than normal. The graph in the previous link that I mentioned for “excess deaths” is averaged over a period of time, the number of deaths from all causes will soon be showing ont that graph to be significantly less than normal. Almost all things even out over time; by the end of the year the number of deaths from all causes will probably be very close to normal in the UNited States despite all the hand wringing.
In addition to excess deaths, why don’t you give me the number of flu deaths for this past season which, best I can tell, are extraordinarily low compared to the past 10 years.
Effin liars...
I bet cause of death from pneumonia and ARDS is way down from last year.
We were in the midst of a pretty bad flu season. Suddenly when Covid-19 became the rage there were ZERO flu deaths... ZERO. Cancer deaths are also way down. My brother-in-law who was on hospice care for an inoperable cancerous brain tumor was counted by CDC guidelines as a “presumptive Covid-19 death”. That is what they call people who died of just about any cause but were not actually tested. There was and is a financial insentive for the doctor, hospital, and state to count people this way.
What a strange coincidence...
In Florida where there was a big flareup, new cases and emergency room visits have dropped significantly since the middle of July.
Weve been testing like crazy, and finding all of the asymptomatic cases, which lowers the death rate, but doesnt change the number of deaths.
California spent millions on Sacramento arena hospital that saw 9 patients
SACRAMENTO, Calif.
Doctors arrived at an arena-turned-medical center in Sacramento in mid-April and were told to prepare for 30 to 60 coronavirus patients to arrive within days. They spent the weekend working feverishly to get ready.
State officials envisioned the cavernous Sleep Train Arena and an adjoining facility as a place where hundreds of patients could be treated, but in the first week just one arrived. The pace never increased, and the 250 assembled medical workers - physicians, nurses, pharmacists and administrative staff - found themselves wondering what to do.
People began to question within themselves whether they were really needed or not,” said Dr. Charles Moore, a retired internal medicine physician who worked there for about six weeks. There were no plans for what would happen if you gave a party and no one came.”
Ultimately, just nine patients arrived over 10 weeks. The cost to care for them was a staggering $12 million.
The Sacramento site was one of 15 temporary medical facilities set up around California in anticipation of a surge of cases that never materialized. It shut down on July 1, as did most others.
