President Trump did not do that and he did with the help of the Kurds eliminate ISIS. That was a blessing for the world.
No sane person looks at the history of Syria and Lebanon and reveres Assad and his father.
The Iranians, Hezbollah and Russians are not a model for anybody.
I've been a vocal supporter of those in N. Syra that fought ISIS, Al Qaeda, and the other Islamist butchers hatched and supported by Turkey.

The US/UK and Western allies think supporting the Communist PKK is fine if it balkanizes Syria. You, IIRC, support a Rojava/Kurdistan recognized Country. I do not.

Russia and Iran are invited guests in Syria via the legitimate government of Syria. Turkey, US/UK, etc, are not. Bashar al Assad is not his father, but since you want to muddy the waters....
