The crime is in the application for the funds, not how he spent the money. if he had not exaggerated the payrolls, he would have been fine. Acting like a Kennedy is not a crime, just the lying to get the money.

Article states he had two business’s with “several employees”, no way he could qualify for 700K & 900K, for several employees.

The PPP loans were for 2.5 month of payroll; so a 700K loan means a monthly payroll of 280K. That could be 35 employees at 8K per emp/mo (only the first 100K annual comp counted toward the loan amount), or 70 employees at 4K per emp/mo, or some combination.
There is no defined difference between several and many, so the article could be technically correct.
