The PPP loans were for 2.5 month of payroll; so a 700K loan means a monthly payroll of 280K. That could be 35 employees at 8K per emp/mo (only the first 100K annual comp counted toward the loan amount), or 70 employees at 4K per emp/mo, or some combination.

There is no defined difference between several and many, so the article could be technically correct.

True, about the semantics ie: several, as I stated up thread, the bank processing the loan should do some due diligence , re total number of employees involved,ie quarterly fillings.
