Trump Campaign Encourages Supporters to Wear Masks: ‘We Have Nothing to Lose’

In an e-mail sent by his campaign on Monday, President Donald Trump said wearing masks is “something we should all try to do.”

“Friend,” the letter opens, “I know how difficult the past few months have been. Your unwavering support during this time has not gone unnoticed.” But rather than push for a “contribution,” this time President Trump is asking his supporters for a different sort of help.

“We are all in this together,” the e-mail, signed by Trump, continued, “and while I know there has been some confusion surrounding the usage of face masks, I think it’s something we should all try to do when we are not able to be socially distanced from others.”

re studies on health care workers; those are done in a hospital setting where numerous sanitary protocols about masks and other than masks are in place all the time.

If they don’t work to screen viruses there what chance is there that they do anything in public worn by idiots who don’t know how to fit them, don’t dispose of them in a timely or proper manner and constantly touch them?

Bottom line is that the N-95 was never intended to screen out viruses.

Like most people with the flu they either have no symptoms or recover.

Besides, we don’t really know if they had CCP-19. Cases are presumed or a single PCR is relied upon which the CDC should not be the only criteria for determining if a person has CCP-19.

And since CCP-19 symptoms mimick the flu, if one presumes a person has it but, wasn’t tested how do they know.

Further, the PCR test is been turned up so high is not only detects other Corona’s but, is influenced by other germs and viruses and may result in a false positive.

I am TOTALLY pissed about this whole unnecessary overreaction to Covid19 - which was nothing but a deliberate, dishonest and politically motivated attempt to tank Trump’s election year economy.

I’m NOT pissed at Trump for “Operation Schmooze the Karens”. He has to do it.

The Left’s fear-mongering strategy was successful - they have a bunch of people scared of this. All of the business shutdowns and mask-wearing is baloney, but the fear is very real.

If you want President Trump to win, you need to let him deal with these Karens in a respectful way. He can’t tell them their fears are unfounded, even if they are unfounded.

Considering we average about 5.5 deaths per minute on a normal day, having only one per minute is pretty good. Also, being as how the large majority of deaths have been people at or past the average life expectancy, it's not like large numbers of young people are dying.

One doctor I listened to about masks said that the N-95 does nothing to filter viruses and was not designed to. Said filtering viruses requires an N-100, must be properly fitted and it takes training to do that. Costs more too. About $35 dollars and up.

N95s actually do a decent job for many virus particles. They are officially rated to block 95% of particles 300nm or larger, but they are decently effective below that as well. Most viri are around 20-500nm, with coronaviri being I think 80-150nm. An N100 is rated to block 100% of those particles at 300nm, but may not fully filter out smaller ones.

However, that requires multiple things. Masks need to be sealed to your face, properly removed/disposed, replaced consistently often (8hr absolute max for most), and not touched at all. Which, of course, NO ONE is doing. Those fancy blue/white surgical masks only filter maybe 30% of your breath. The rest of going all around the edges. Here's some more detailed posts:

There are a lot of caveats there. I'm pretty sure the rating is derived from tests where 100% of the air is forced through the filtering material. Not even the most meticulous health care worker can achieve that with a mask on their face.

But they weren't designed to filter viruses so a bit of failure there isn't really a failure.

Yes, this happens. But, the symptoms are pretty recognizable as different from a “normal” flu. But, yes there are lots of false positives and motorcycle deaths that are coded Covid.

Still, it is a reality that it exists. Shocking to have this debate in this thread. Anyway, keep care. Starting to feel trolled.

I started Quercetin a couple of months back without zinc. Just in the background. But, if I feel a sniffle or something, then at least 3 days of zinc. Look out cold and flu bugs.. regardless of COVID, this is a boon.
