It is not a matter if Joe is willing to perform in a debate, he is not mentally able to participate in a debate. No one has an control over dementia.......

Haven’t seen or heard much from Joe, but he does seem a bit better which makes me believe that he’s on one of the Alzheimer medications that provides temporary improvement.
Of course if true, this should be revealed to the public, but it won’t be.
Whomever he chooses as his running mate, will be president when his dementia forces him to step down.

Having witnessed my father die from complications of vascular dementia, I can easily see the stepwise decline in Biden’s mental capacities. He’s moving beyond mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to full dementia. Trump and the American people must demand a full medical report on Biden, including neurological evaluations and the list of medications he is being administered to treat the mental deterioration. I can see the DNC trying to get away with this farce, but is his wife so corrupt that she won’t call a halt?

When do most candidate debates happen?

Isn’t it getting pretty late in the game? And he hasn’t even declared a VP pick yet

When did hilLIARy pick that hand puppet she chose? That nobody certainly added ZERO enthusiasm to her campaign

Neither side has anything to gain from the debates and both sides will avoid them completely if they can make it look like the other side was to blame.

It’s a lose-lose for Joe Biden.

Refusal demonstrates they think he can’t debate.
Debating proves he can’t debate.

Obvious dementia aside, the Biden camp might be waiting to see if John Durham has anything coming out in September.

I remember Biden’s debate with Paul Ryan in 2012. All he did was laugh like a clown at everything Paul Ryan said. He didn’t even attempt to engage intellectually.

Then tactic worked . . .because he was debating Paul Ryan. It would not work against President Trump.

I predict about 5 days before the 1st debate there will be some phony outrage over something President Trump said and was deliberately twisted out of context. Then Biden will back out of the debate in “protest”.

Even if he shows up, some states will have already started voting before the first scheduled debate

If Sleepy Joe can’t handle a debate with Trump, how’s going to do when he has to confront Russia, China, Iran, or other world leaders?

God help us if that is ever the case.

The public deserves to see how well Mr. Biden holds up under debate pressure, while hearing his answers to pointed questions about his policy proposals. If he ducks debates, voters will have every right to conclude that his handlers are trying to protect him from doubts about his cognitive capacity. If the debates seem too much like an endless succession of sound bites, that’s an argument for changing their format and pushing for longer and deeper answers, not axing them—especially not in 2020. Mr. Biden portrays Mr. Trump as a bumbling incompetent, a racist, and a liar. If he believes that, he should be willing to repeat his accusations face to face.

Well said and all true.

It’s amazing how the “Presidential Election Industry” keeps pimping their product.

It’s been obvious FOR MONTHS that if the Biden deception were to go forward that there would be no debates.

It’s also obvious that they haven’t found a way out of the deception involved in running Biden in the first place, and that they have a plan or plans to prevent a second term for Donald Trump that go well beyond having him lose to Joe Biden.

Hopefully, this will be addressed on “The Daily Briefing,” today 2:00 PM EDT on Fox News. Doctor! Jill Biden will be the guest.

It’s all in the rules, the format and the moderators. Biden will debate Trump but insist on conditions favorable to him. the MSM will cover for him and feed him prepared questions. Biden will rope-a-dope through it.

All Trump needs is a moment where Joe is exposed for what he is. Hopefully Trump’s team is smart enough to make that happen.

I think the debates are going to be more of a risk for Trump than Biden. If Biden shows up and doesn’t do some major flub, he can use these debates as a way to disprove the dementia narrative. The bar is being set way too low for him.

Has there ever been a candidate, at least in modern times, who did not public ally debate their opponent? Or in the last 100 years? Or 150? Or even 200?

Debates are not important because they reveal policy or the thought process of the candidates. But they do reveal how they act under pressure. In most cases, candidates, especially at the presidential level, are skilled at handling pressure and deflecting questions that are designed to pull them into traps. That's why it usually seems that the debates are more or less a draw.

But with the doubts raised about Biden's mental condition, the debates this year could reveal quite a lot. To me it's very simple- if Biden flounders and has trouble with complete sentences and coherent thoughts in the debates, he will be done. If he is sharp and handles the questions with wit, Trump is in serious trouble. It's still not insurmountable, as the Democrat platform is a hard sell to mainstream America. But Trump will need to be focused, more than he has previously.

The recent past, however, shows that Biden is losing mental acuity, not maintaining even from earlier this year. People who have not seen much of him since he was Vice President are going to be shocked by his appearance alone. He has aged a lot in the last eight years.
