Senator Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska), expressed concern that confirming a Trump nominee before the end of the president’s term would create a “double standard”

Why? Trump's not a lame duck.

Why? Trump's not a lame duck.

Neither was Bush, Senior. That's when the "Biden Rule" started.

“Why? Trump's not a lame duck.”

And THAT’s what it was all about.

Not at all a double standard.

Murkowski is clearly not very bright. She’s incapable of understanding such subtleties.

Exactly...We have the Senate and the Presidency. Obama had only the Whitehouse. The Repubs had the Senate. Would they have given Garland a hard time if nominated...cuz we’re not like the Dems. And we know nothing about Garland...because it didn’t happen.

Why? Trump's not a lame duck.

I don't understand what difference that makes.

The argument was the electorate will decide which vision they embrace come November - the Republican candidate's or the Democrat's.

What does being a lame duck have to do with it, at least before the election?
