“A lot of people are going to be evicted but I’m going to stop it because I’ll do it myself if I have to,” Trump told reporters at an event at the White House. “I have a lot of powers with respect to executive orders and we’re looking at that very seriously right now.”

He later said that he could act in order to prevent people from being put in homeless shelters, where he said they could be at a higher risk of catching the coronavirus.

“They are thrown out viciously,” Trump said. “It’s not their fault.”

Similarly, he told reporters he could use an executive order to lower payroll taxes, another idea he was studying after the idea generated little enthusiasm on Capitol Hill.

No branch of the government has Constitutional power to do that. Is he bluffing?

Might be able to stop evictions from government housing.

Roberts may regret his ruling.

Nasty Nancy isn't going to be pleased with this!

The dems believe they have President cornered and that they could use these “lifelines” as leverage to get their agenda pushed through relatively easy.

Maybe there are alternatives to caving in to the dems demands after all!

I like Vet he fact that he keeps referencing the SCOTUS ruling! You can practically hear the teeth grinding coming out of the court.

Perhaps it is a bluff, but it puts the spotlight back on the issue in an unfavorable way for the dems.

What about the owners? Will the real estate taxes be suspended because the property is a rental? Will the bank notes be suspended because the property is a rental? I owned a few rentals while I was working full time. If a tenant isn’t paying, they are not taking care of the property. The place will be a mess....and you can’t evict them. Once the bill is actually due, they are gone and the owners will be left with a completely trashed asset.

Time to get the government out of the markets. If people need help, there are organizations which can help them. The collateral damage will haunt this nation for generations.

Well, Pres. Trump better figure out how to give Federal agencies powers to create cash flow for landlords and mortgage companies to pay their employees as well (That has no approval of Congressional laws built into whatever EO he would be conjuring up).

This situation is FUBAR as far as the future goes and that is just the housing/employment part of the equation. Wait until Medicare and Social Security becomes strained even further (Huge hole in Med Part A starting in 2026 way before the pandemic). Going to be fun watching how much the Fed. Reserve can absorb bonds without unwinding.

I believe the federal moratorium on evictions only applies to properties that have federally guaranteed mortgages on them.

I don’t know if he can stop evictions by edict, but he can certainly issue a pardon to every employer who doesn’t pay the federal payroll tax.

I think he is referring to property rented or financed through HUD.

Drop in the bucket and receipts will dwindle down. SS and Medicare “promises” as well as Medicaid (Which a huge influx of individuals will be “entitled” to) will come crashing down.

A refundable tax credit equal to lost rent would work. Roberts would okay it, it’s a tax.

How come no presidential executive order on putting a stop to this muzzle mask nonsense? How come no presidential executive order to stop the states from infringing on our first amendment right to worship? Where is his justice department? They were supposed to be “on the lookout“ for violation of our constitutional rights under Covid.

No offense but the only way things may hit the point where they change is more and more pressure on local and state demtard socialists when the probles they’ve made totally on their own, explode in their faces.

Trump should stay out ofthe way

People may not demand the heads of the demtards and get people in that are country loving conservative adults u til they are pushed to personal extremes.

He shouldnt white knight for the socialists and save their asses by shor circuiting peoples responses to them.

Dems wil jut stay snuggly ensconced while riping Trump who is saving their bacon.
