Many here will remember McGovern’s VP partner, Thomas Eagleton who was lucid and fully functional....but post Dem Convention....

Yep. Some said she would be replaced before the election. And RBG is dead. Maybe Paul too. :-). We’ve heard all this stuff before.
Biden’s ego will ensure there are debates. Biden will continue to rope a dope and issue canned responses. MSM will crow that Biden won. Fairly predictable.
All Trump needs to do is get Joe off script and expose him. Need a Caine mutiny moment. Shouldn’t be that hard.
I found it curious over the weekend that Brian Stelter of CNN, who is about as much of a hack as you can find, even at that network, surprisingly pressed Biden’s press secretary about when the senile one would hold a full press conference. This may be an effort by the Dem establishment to force Biden out in the next week or so before the convention by outing his dementia. The other thing I find odd is that they keep postponing his announcement of the VP - if they are planning to force Biden out of the race, an announced VP becomes the lead candidate to replace him and this is fraught with political danger from the left and center, what there is of it in the Dem party.
“No Debates” It’d be safer to let Slower and Slower Joe play with a loaded pistol. Joe’s campaign will say no and the media will drop it, end of story.
If people vote early, for Joe, then when they switch people those votes are wasted.

Yep, I wonder when the voting actually starts? Before the convention? can't be. If they make a switch, it will be just prior to the convention.
He will not be appearing live on TV. They will do videos. They can take and retake. They can edit. In fact, they can create a video without him ever saying a word.
But they can’t do that in a live debate. The earbud connected to a panel of live prompters can go only so far. Trump knows his vulnerabilities, and will knock him out in the first round.
Schedule the debates!

They were hoping to drag him across the finish line. With COVID providing cover along with the media’s help they really thought they could do it.
This sad episode has taken on a Weekend at Bernie’s like aura. Its hard to believe our political process has sunk to this level.
True, but with the DNC’s history of providing debate question read-aheads to the front-runner... ya never know.
How in the world have they kept this farce up this long? How can anyone have confidence in a party that has covered this up for so long? UJBELIEVABLE!
