Back in 2015, several dozen demonstrators interrupted Democrat presidential candidate Martin O'Malley (D-Md.) while he spoke at the Netroots Nation conference in Phoenix. They shouted, "Black lives matter!" The former Maryland governor responded, "Black lives matter. White lives matter. All lives matter." The demonstrators, who were mostly black, responded by booing him and shouting him down.
In a New York Times article written at the time, Judith Butler tried to explain away the demonstration by saying, "When some people rejoin with 'All Lives Matter' they misunderstand the problem, but not because their message is untrue. It is true that all lives matter, but it is equally true that not all lives are understood to matter, which is precisely why it is most important to name the lives that have not mattered, and are struggling to matter in the way they deserve. If we jump too quickly to the universal formulation, 'all lives matter,' then we miss the fact that black people have not yet been included in the idea of 'all lives.'"
In a July 11, 2016 article entitled "Why you should stop saying 'all lives matter,' explained in 9 different ways," German Lopez says, "But the point of Black Lives Matter isn't to suggest that black lives should be or are more important than all other lives. Instead, it's simply pointing out that black people's lives are relatively undervalued in the US — and more likely to be ended by police [emphasis his] — and the country needs to recognize that inequity to bring an end to it." Vox offered no explanation for Lopez's use of "undervalued," assuming, perhaps, that there could be no misunderstanding.

This doesn’t seem to be reason-based; rather it seems to be envy-based: they want what other people have, but without having to WORK for it.

Exercise your God given freedom of speech; just Wait for the right time, and the right audience. Because freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences, and your employer has a right to decide who he will employ - I just wish that were true evenly, across the board.

I think you and I are very close on this. It is being bullied into accepting a herd mentality which I utterly reject.
I don’t mind going along with a herd opinion as long as I have had a chance to think it through for myself.
I have thought this one through. Statistics don’t support their assertion, and neither does their assertion that police departments are institutionally racist. I am sure that to the black community it looks like they are being picked on because they are black, but when 3% of the US population is responsible for 45% of violent crime (defined as homicide, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and rape) then police departments nationwide are going to have a a greater degree of contentious interaction with blacks than whites would.
I can appreciate that law-abiding blacks don’t like this, but that is the unvarnished truth.
So I am an not inclined (like they wholeheartedly are) to condemn all law enforcement agencies and those who work in them as racist.
I really appreciate your post saying that. It is easy for me to sometimes feel (occasionally prodded by more rigid Freepers) that I am doing wrong by putting up with it.
I live in the bluest of blue states, and it isn’t easy for me to shut my mouth on this in the work environment, which is what the Left wants, not only at work but everywhere.

I have had many unfortunte encounters with these people in my association with the DC chapter of Free Republic (real patriots, all of them) in their counter protests against the Left, and I have little tolerance for them or their tactics.
When they get wound up, their faces get red, they have spittle coming out of their lips, their eyes get glazed...I don’t even want to be around them.
Hey, I have hate too. I know hate can be a poisonous and corrosive to the vessel that holds it, so I try to keep that in mind.
