Back in 2015, several dozen demonstrators interrupted Democrat presidential candidate Martin O'Malley (D-Md.) while he spoke at the Netroots Nation conference in Phoenix. They shouted, "Black lives matter!" The former Maryland governor responded, "Black lives matter. White lives matter. All lives matter." The demonstrators, who were mostly black, responded by booing him and shouting him down.
In a New York Times article written at the time, Judith Butler tried to explain away the demonstration by saying, "When some people rejoin with 'All Lives Matter' they misunderstand the problem, but not because their message is untrue. It is true that all lives matter, but it is equally true that not all lives are understood to matter, which is precisely why it is most important to name the lives that have not mattered, and are struggling to matter in the way they deserve. If we jump too quickly to the universal formulation, 'all lives matter,' then we miss the fact that black people have not yet been included in the idea of 'all lives.'"
In a July 11, 2016 article entitled "Why you should stop saying 'all lives matter,' explained in 9 different ways," German Lopez says, "But the point of Black Lives Matter isn't to suggest that black lives should be or are more important than all other lives. Instead, it's simply pointing out that black people's lives are relatively undervalued in the US and more likely to be ended by police [emphasis his] and the country needs to recognize that inequity to bring an end to it." Vox offered no explanation for Lopez's use of "undervalued," assuming, perhaps, that there could be no misunderstanding.

Hahahahahahaha...The Attack of The Giant Newborn!
I like that...:)
BTW...
Whether they do it knowingly as Marxists or unknowingly as Useful Idiots, the result is the same.
This is true. These Useful Idiots have rarely visited the BLM site, and even fewer are aware of their mission statement. I have often pointed it out and they perform all manner of contortions to explain away what they really mean despite the clear verbiage.
But I have a different take on what Mr Beatty repeatedly states. To justify BLM rather than ALM, you have to accept the premise that black people’s lives are relatively undervalued in the US in recent history. I dont. At least not ant more than any other life. Rather, BLM trained Marxists need the cover the uninitiated Useful Idiots provide. Having their catchphrase replaced or altered separates the true BLM from those that possibly might be of purer heart.
Yes.
To the Marxists at Black Lives Matter, black grievance is a tool for Marxist ends.
They no doubt believe they are killing two birds with one stone, serving two masters for the price of one, Marx and the war against the country that once enslaved them, but in reality, they are only serving one master, and one master alone.
Marx and his ideological progeny.
You say crude, I say pithy.
A very inconvenient fact to reconcile with the leftist mantra of systemic racism.
We may, in fact, have systemic racism, but against the paleface.
Were heating for an apartheid.
Oh, and to further brighten your day, BLM is a 501(c)(3).
The problem with all lives matter is the realization that the lives of a handful of black criminals really don’t matter and are in fact harmful and detrimental to America.
A living America is much more important than the deaths of a few black perpetual criminals
Political analysis
Which is another point that makes me madder than hell as you expected it might-the involvement of non-profits such as churches in political activity. I live near a "church" that looks like this and has for the last five or six years:
It makes me hopping mad they can do this and be tax exempt. I drove by it recently, and there were young, high school age girls jumping up and down with car wash signs, looking for all the world as if they were raising money for a cheerleading squad or a softball team, but it was to raise money for Black Lives Matter.
Insanity. Those tax-exempt laws should be overhauled.
How about the ivies with tax-exempt status, sitting on millions in endowments that they wouldnt dream of wasting on hiring competent faculty. They dont have to with the Saudis funding the Death to the Great Satan departments. Gawd only knows what China is buying and how much. Given four more years, President Trump would ferret out that filth.
But I feel that crude language devalues the site...
You may be right. In the future I'll try not to use the term "Obama".
All black lives matter.
