AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) – The man who was sitting in a Jeep as it was driven through a protest on Interstate 225 in Aurora has spoken out in a YouTube video.
An affidavit showed that 27-year-old Gregory Goodenough was the passenger in the blue Jeep seen in SkyFOX video speeding through a crowd of protesters on July 25. Aurora police said they have not interviewed him, but did confirm that he is the man in the video.
During the 2-minute-long video, Goodenough describes what happened from his point of view. He says it all started because a friend was driving him to the airport so he could board a flight to San Jose.
“We did notice that there were Black Lives Matter protesters on all sides of the street trying to stop traffic. We then avoided any pedestrians in the roadways and continued onto the freeway. There was no police barricade that stopped us,” he said.
Goodenough continues to describe the scene, with protesters on both sides of the on ramp as well as in the roadway on I-225.
“These protesters then immediately started throwing projectiles at the Jeep as well as trying to get in front of the vehicle with bats to damage the vehicle,” he said.
Next, Goodenough describes what happens when a white pickup truck began driving next to them and eventually the two vehicles were involved in a crash.
“Once this white pickup truck did crash into us, a man with a bat then approached the vehicle and began swinging at the vehicle,” he said. “We then proceeded to speed off to avoid any potential damage to ourselves and the vehicle.”

Just because you are afraid for your life because person A is trying to harm you with a baseball bat, unfortunately does not allow you to drive over (use deadly force) against person B.
That is the likely logic that will be presented to a jury.
I personally, like the idea of jury nullification.
I think that this case will be more about politics and headlines than a search for justice.
Well I’m not sure I know the ideology of the people that live in this area, but I find it hard to believe that anybody would not recognize those actions as running in fear of losing their life.
If person B is attempting to prevent your retreat from person A, they’re fair game.

It seems that they were then assaulted with a deadly weapon, the white truck. I would have had my pistol out at that point in time.
The rioters do not seem to think that anyone else has any rights. A few of them are going to end up dead as they learn that lesson. Attacking someone with a baseball bat is reason to deploy deadly force in self defense. Attacking a person with a white truck is reason to pull the trigger until the mag is empty.

True, but you have to prove that is what person B was doing. Or at least that a “reasonable man” would believe that person B was attempting to prevent retreat and then prove that the deadly force used was “proportional” to the threat posed by person B.
That will be the rub.
Flight Times Matter.
It is generally a matter of application of the law.
To consider them all a part of violent mob and accomplices is a legit approach as well.

In your description, Persons A and B are both complicit in their intent to block traffic and assault drivers.
Any harm or death to any of the terrorists is due to their participation in terrorist activities. The terrorists are collectively responsible, and nobody else.

Dude had every rational reason to drive on.
Imo, any and all scumbag rioters that got hit should be charged with reckless endangerment for putting themselves in the way, and accessories to felony assault for coordinating with the scumbags trying to stop and assault that vehicle.
And all moral hand-wringers should be slapped down so hard they go permanently walleyed every time they run their chum sumps on their moral equivalency bullcrap.
They are not now, nor have they ever been anything but force multipliers for the scumbags while working to undermine our own side’s moral and cohesion.

Yep, but verbal threats, rocks thrown and gun shots into his direction are all on video.
I have impression that the definition of ‘peaceful protest’ is overextended lately.
I think whatever ‘protestor’ attending ‘peaceful rally’ involving armed violent thugs attacking motorists is a fair game.
There have been many videos of the violent rioters pushing back on the hood of a car to block or impede its exit. I hope such evidence emerges here.
I have yet to see any video evidence of rioters anywhere opening a clear pathway for a vehicle to exit unmolested.
