James Murdoch is not speaking to dad Rupert, ‘really disagrees’ with some views on Fox News, has never seen Succession, is awestruck by Pete Buttigeig and hopes to save democracy after walking away from the family business $2B richer
This is important.
I wonder what the back story is on this.
The proximate cause could be, I speculate, the pushback last week by the WSJ editorial page against that power move by the “journalists” demanding that they be given effective censorship control over opinions. Who organized those people?
Also the intense efforts to dump Tucker Carlson.
There is more here than just personal whim.
Also there are three siblings and a cousin who jointly own the bulk of the stock in News Corp. The CEO and chairman is Lachlan not James.
James old brother Lachlan, who is seen as the more right-leaning of the two, recently took control over Fox Corp., the parent company of the Fox News Channel.
- from the James gives to Buttigieg Breitbart link
Nope.
Too liberal.
Then this sounds like a positive development!
And if Juan Williams scampers to the door with them, I hope he is shoved out, too. And the door locked behind them
News Corp also owns The Times of London, The Sun newspaper in the UK and Sky UK broadcast network in the UK.
I thought Rupert passed away!!
Excellent. Newscorp is the only one of the 6 media megacorps that is not entirely beholden to the Gaia Worshiping global socialists. The leftist rot at Fox has been noticeable. It needs to be corrected post haste.
The New York Post and the Wall Street Journal are by far the best newspapers in New York precisely because they are not controlled by far left lunatics.
James wants to feed the crocodile of leftism in the hope that it eats him last. His dad is much wiser.
OPPS Rodger Ailes is the one who passed!!
From your link:
“- Murdoch pocketed $2 billion when Disney purchased a number of Fox assets earlier this year, but left his job with the family business at the same time
- He is now funding a bipartisan think tank that aims ‘to craft effective, practical, actionable, and ambitious policies domestically and abroad’
- Murdoch said he is doing this to protect democracy, and is also supporting organizations that safeguard voting rights and increase voter turnout “
Maybe he had to leave, because his upcoming actions were going to be far too blatantly political for a Board Member to engage in, without jeopardizing the business (either their licensing, or PR)?
Nope.
Still alive and kicking.
Don’t forget Rupert has two more kids with his Chinese ex wife, who will have something to say about all this too after he’s passed.
They wouldn’t fire Tucker, eh?
Yes, correct
Oops, Correction: Post 32 was from RummyChick’s link, not conservative98’s.
Oh I hope not. Juan as the token “liberal” is so much fun to watch as he stum-fumbles around a lot like Joe Bideen.
Well that money was well spent...
