Former President Barack Obama used his eulogy at the funeral of Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) to call for an end to the Senate filibuster to pass Democrats’ new legislation on voting reform.
Obama said that Republicans had imitated Jim Crow-era restrictions on voting rights, which Lewis marched against, by passing state voter ID laws and other measures that conservatives argue prevent voter fraud.
“And if all this takes is ending the filibuster, another Jim Crow relic, in order to secure the God-given rights of every American, then that’s what we should do.”
Without mentioning Donald Trump by name, Obama likened the president to segregationist Democrat Gov. George Wallace of Alabama, and compared federal law enforcement officers to the police who beat civil rights marchers across the South.
He accused the government of “sending agents to use tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators.”

Obama’s absurd defense of his Alito filibuster

President Obama in a Tuesday press conference made his first effort to explain away his attempted 2006 filibuster of President Bush’s nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, which has garnered renewed attention given the political battle over replacing deceased Justice Antonin Scalia.
First, Obama said that in effect, he was just playing politics when he tried to deny Alito an up or down vote. Second, he argued that Alito was confirmed in spite of his attempted obstruction. Both are absurd defenses. Let’s take them one by one.
So when will that linebacker he’s married to be running for President?

Obama is beyond a SLEAZE BAG, this POTUS created this division in this country I honestly have never hated anyone in my life but my utter hatred of this despicable human being is unhealthy!! His eulogy at this funeral today was EXACTLY what his 8 years as POTUS consisted of division and racism what kind of a human being does that at a funeral A COMPLETE LOW LIFE!!!

Idiot. The filibuster was first used in 1837 and Jim Crow started in the 1870s. The Filibuster is not a relic of Jim Crow.

Obama talking about people’s God-given rights includes things like multiple votes in one election, dead folks voting, stuff like that. That man needs to be gone & “the hole” in Gitmo is probably not quite far enough away.
