There’s nothing in downtown Detroit to loot.
So why is Trump sending federal officers? Possibly because of the general crime problem but federal officers aren’t going to be able to fix that. More likely he thinks that the conservative Michigan voters will be impressed by his order. He’s trying to budge the vote tally. He’s also sending federal officers to Ohio and Wisconsin, two other swing states.
Detroit is 80% black. It’s kind of hard to blame their problems on whites.
Hard to believe Detroit would be an example of how to protect a liberal city, but good for them. Hey, if people want to protest peacefully, and I do mean *peacefully*, fine.
As soon as the rioters show up or have protesting activities that impede the safety of the city or the police officers (Molotov cocktails, bear traps, lasers in the eyes, etc.), slap them down.
Or maybe it’s because there isn’t much left to burn down in Detroit :)

Is this the same police chief who said in an interview that residents should arm up to avoid becoming victims? Because if so, I like him.
Is he the one who told Detroit citizens a few years ago to arm themselves and take care of any trouble,, because the cops could only be there after the fact to write a report?

A friend of mine is a PI who spends a lot of time in his van watching for people to serve papers on and for cheating on disability
He was staked out in Detroit a couple years back when a cop Charger pulled up with 4 cops in it
they asked him if he had any guns, and not wanting to give anything away, (he ALWAYS carries) he said “no”
they all screamed at him...”Why the hell not? Don’t you know you’re in Detroit???”

ANTIFA are scared s#itless of Detroit. They would never dare go there.
I actually have more respect for antifa than I do for the Democrats. The Democrats are the reason so many places like Detroit are hollowed out shells, and while they have no problem at all piling misery upon misery, the anarchists might be better people than that, which is not a comforting thought.

Detroit has many awful decades, but a police chief like this (with support from the mayor) sends a _strong_ message.
