Herman Cain, former presidential hopeful who was once considered by President Donald Trump for the Federal Reserve, has died after being hospitalized with the coronavirus. He was 74.
Cain’s death was announced Thursday on his website by Dan Calabrese, who edits the site and had previously written about his colleague’s diagnosis.
In addition to his wife Gloria Etchison, survivors include his two children, Melanie and Vincent, Calabrese said.

My friend, @THEHermanCain , was a prolific businessman, a stalwart of conservative policies, and most importantly he was a loving husband and father. My prayers are with Gloria and his family as he rests in a better place. His humor and vigor for America will be missed.

We are absolutely heartbroken over Herman's death. Really thought he would make it.
Shook his hand at CPAC in 2010 or 2011... he had just brought the house down with one of his fabulous, hilarious speeches. I remember marveling how he was a Stage 4 colon cancer survivor, and contemplating a run for President. Not to mention his stellar business career.
We need many more Patriots like Herman, now more than ever. He will be greatly missed. Godspeed and Rest in Peace, Dear Herman...

And, of course, as per standard lefty procedure, once Cain dropped out, not another peep was heard from the bimbos or Soros’ Politico.

Yes, I remember when you attended that event. Poor Fred Thompson (RIP). I think I voted for Herman as well in the CT primary, months after your FL one. It doesn't really matter, as our conservative / Republican votes here in The People's Republik of Connecticut don't matter at all, of course.
Some FReepers said Cain had recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I don't know if this is true...
